While I agree that the video is comical, it would be very unwise for us to underestimate what IS/ISIS/etc is capable of.
These are not bumbling idiots like Al-Queda, Hezbollah, or otherwise. These are well funded, intelligent, and very focused folks that we, as a country, have severely underestimated.
Unlike what Big Ears in the whitehouse has to say, these guys are not the JV league over there.

While I agree that the video is comical, it would be very unwise for us to underestimate what IS/ISIS/etc is capable of.

I totally agree. They also have a new video out showing them training kids, in those same uniforms they were wearing in the video of the Jordanian pilot video.
They might have as much skill as a kid playing cowboys and indians, but i don't think they should be underestimated. They seems to just keep getting more and more organized. While it is said they aren't wearing these new uniforms in the battle field, they are starting to to wear them more and more in the videos, showing that they are taking things serious to show the world they are a serious force. They are a propaganda machine. if they show they are serious, others who "believe" in their cause will think they should follow them because they are actually doing something real. Remember who else was big into propaganda and brainwashing? Hitler.
The world should take notice of them, and stop them now before they get any more powerful and cause any more people to follow their crazy ideas.

A bullet from an poorly trained monkey will kill you just as effectively as one from someone highly trained. I'm not suggesting that these guys are tactical geniuses, however I wouldn't underestimate their effectiveness.

I have to agree. It doesn't take much skill to spray and pray with an AK47, but these terrorists have been killing quite effectively with that method for years.

Don't let some of the silliness fool you; reflect upon what's effective and what's not.
For example, the "ghillie suit" isn't particularly refined. However, consider its efficacy at 800 meters, and then reflect upon the fact that they're training their people to be efficient in asymmetrical warfare. The technology may not be there, but the tactics are. ISIS is showing that they've learned from the inefficiencies of small-arms campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are adapting to a more refined and crafted method of infantry combat.
We know that air campaigns will do little to deter them, and the reality is that someone (whether it be Western coalition or otherwise) is going to have to engage them in small-arms combat. As laughable as their karate and tactical barrel rolls are on their own, the sum is greater than the whole of its parts. They are training with purpose and precision. And that is nothing to laugh about.
On a positive note. The more they want to look like a uniformed opposition force, the easier time we'll have to get the go ahead to go in and destroy them.

True believers are never to be underestimated. There are few things on this planet worse than a monster who believes with his heart and soul that he's right with his god.
That being said, this is a 12 year old's idea of what special operations training looks like and I can't wait to start killing these fucks. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go train by jumping through some flaming hoops..

+1 to the folks saying don't underestimate these guys. We need to remember that this is a recruiting video. It's not targeted at us, nor is it targeted at our military as a challenge of "here's what we can do". I believe this video is targeted at those muslim teens around the world that are hovering on the edge of becoming the bad guy. These guys (ISIS) are getting pretty smart at selling their message. This worries me, in that I can easily see how some stupid kid can watch this video and not see the idiocy that we see. What also concerns me is that ISIS is also very well funded and like I said, getting very smart. What sort of training are they really putting their troops through. What sort of R&D is going on in the hundreds of ISIS funded workshops around the world. (Also where are these shops) Finally, we saw through the last decade in the two shitholes we were fighting in, how combat drastically increases the Darwinian effect. Haj and Tali was either stupid and died or survived and kept getting smarter. These guys are currently embracing the suck and they are learning from it.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go train by jumping through some flaming hoops..

As much as I'd like to laugh at their training sessions, I keep thinking the initial Colonial training drills probably made the Redcoats laugh too. These POSes are committed to their holy war; that kind of fervor is dangerous and should not be underestimated.
I think it's okay to make fun of them while at the same time accepting, and respecting what they are becoming. Refusing to make light of ISIS seems too close to submission to me.
