So I'm in the process of picking out a new rack based guitar rig. The setup I have picked out is a going to be a 2U amp with a 1U power conditioner and a 1U tuner. A 4u rack case would be perfect except for how I would have to run my cables. I would need to run my guitar into the tuner, then the tuner into my amp. Problem is that the output on the tuner is only in the back, and the input on my amp is in the front.

Now with a 4U case, I would need to route my cable from my tuner out (on the back of the tuner) on the outside of the rack case and wrap it around the front to the input for my amp...I really don't like how that would work. I had an idea of getting a 6U rack case and then running the cable through one of the open bays up to my amp but that's still not clean enough for my liking (I'm borderline OCD about how my gear looks). Is there something like a 1U rack panel that has a 1/4" in connector so that I could run the cable from the tuner out into the panel and then just a short little patch cable into my amp? Or maybe a way I could fabricate something out of a 1U blank rack panel that had a male to male pass through type of jack?

I know that's probably more work than it's worth, but what the hell...I've got the time to do it. Thanks in advance for the help!

Something like this:

mounted to a 1RU panel, and a cable on the back going to the amp... would be 1/4 male on one end, and soldered to the above connector on the back side.
a short Male-to-male 1/4 patch cord into that going into your tuner on the front side...

There are a bunch of ways to solve this, but when you bring OCD in, then this seems like the simplest solution.

The jack that 68Charger shows looks really cool. There are a few which are a little more commonly used. Are you good at soldering? Try these (http://www.parts-express.com/neutrik-nj3fp6c-bag-1-4-locking-chassis-jack-black--092-084) in your rack panel, maybe if you have room on the side of the rackears on your tuner you could drill in one of these (http://www.parts-express.com/switchcraft-151-1-4-mono-2-conductor-thick-panel-mount-jack--093-151). Consider good right angle connectors to leave them plugged in all the time. Switchcraft or Neutrik are the brands I like best.
