Wasn't sure if this is the right forum, but couldn't figure out where else to post it.

I'm debating picking one of these up. For those of you who have shot a PS90 rifle or SBR (or the real full auto p90) - any impressions?

I have no doubt it will be a fun range toy for a couple weeks but am worried it would get old fast, especially with the less common ammo and sit at the back of the safe.

Dont shoot her with shorts on. Hot brass in the shoes. No fun.
The PS90 I shot was neat. I like the small package and ergonomics. I did not care for how high the optic sat above the barrel. One thing to consider are mags with the new laws. 15 round mags (if they even make them) kinda defeats the purpose of the gun. All depends on your intentions for the gun. If I bought one, I would SBR it in a heartbeat.

I have a PS90 that I SBR'd and I really love it. I run a can on it maybe 50% of the time. I actually reload for mine so I do use the case collector that attaches to the ejection port. There is virtually no recoil to the weapon. As far as ergonomics and overall feel, they are not the most friendly. Cheek weld isnt great but that is because of the unique mag design. I have the factory optic on it and find that it works well for what it is intended for. After all it is a PDW so certain things had to be given to get the compact design. As a SBR it is small! If I had to do it again i definitely would!

I forgot to add, the mags are not fun to load. Hence the liking of 50 rounders!

Love mine (PS90). Had it SBRed with the barrel out being cut now. You can't own a P90 unless you are LEO. Ammo prices have come down. Great rifle. Make sure you get a 1st or 2nd Gen firing group. There are 10Rd mags.

I would love to hear your process on reloading 5.7x28.

Yes you should get one (or two) and have at least one of them SBR'd. Here lately I have only been shooting mine suppressed with a sparrow and I absolutely love it. Have owned one for almost 5 years now, I don't reload the round but ammo can be had for $16/box of 50 if you find a good price. Its not really that expensive compared to other rounds.

The new ones with the adjustable rail do make the optic sit high, but you just have to modify to shoot with a chin weld rather than a cheek weld.

The mags are the other problem as somebody pointed out, they only come in 10, 30, and 50 rounds so you would be limited to 10rds a mag, which sucks, but in the long run may save you money!! Haha 50rds go FAST!

A friends wife has one (civvie model) and the 57 pistol, she's no new comer to firearms. After owning 9's, 45 & 40's she went with the 57 and decided it was ( for her) such a nice gun to get the rifle. Her long guns have been collecting dust for a few years since the conversion to 5.7 . Shot both of them but found (for myself) the conversion to that caliber would be an investment i didn't want to start.

A friend of mine calls it a boutique gun, which is kindof is, but it is tremendously fun to shoot, and has virtually no recoil. I've shot it in a 3-gun and it was like cheating, although mandatory reloads are punishing, since most people don't practice it. Mechanically it's an impressive design.

Make sure you get a 1st or 2nd Gen firing group.

And pay more $ for Gen 1/2? Why?

Don't be ridiculous.

American Eagle 40gr is the least expensive ammo but they also do not feed as reliably as FN 27gr and 40gr ammo, or so the FN forums say (not my experience). There have also been reported problems with AE case separation in the PS90 chamber. Overall, I'd recommend buying one!

What can I say that hasn't been said? It's a fun gun to shoot, but in a SHTF situation, I would not be taking it as a primary weapon, difficult to load the mags AND finding the ammo in the wild might be a bit of a problem... sure a 500rd brick of it is the same size as 2 pmags roughly.. but.. getting that thing loaded quickly is NOT happening.

OK you guys convinced me. That was more positive feedback than I expected. You're all welcome to come out and shoot it once the form 3 gets approved. (No I'm not paying for all your ammo though, you mooches!) :)

I have a short one and it is fun to shoot although not practical in any way shape or form.

Many moons ago I got to put a few mags through a P-90, huge fun. Very controllable.

I reload for mine. Subs using 55gn bullets. You won't get more than a reload or two before the brass is toast. And not an easy caliber to reload.

I concur with you on reloading. If i get 2 reloads i am happy. And definitely not an easy one to reload or for beginners.
