my daughter has her hunter safety and I have taken her duck hunting. she is very comfortable shooting her 22 rifle but shes definitely gun shy when it comes to her shotgun. I was told that if I get her an autoloader the reduced recoil will help out a lot (obviously). but not sure what shotgun might fit the bill or wont break the bank. any suggestions or experience with this situation would be appreciated.

I'd look for a 1100 20 gauge. I believe I've seen those before then it would be a matter of getting the stock cut to fit her. I think they are 20 or 23" barrel. Get one with removable chokes that shoot steel then you should be good to go for waterfowl.

beretta 390 in 20ga and swap out the springs...done deal. 2 3/4" duck loads also, don't beat her up on the heavy 3" mags. We use the shorties and they kill just fine.

other model would be an sx3. I have both in 12ga, shot the a390 20ga in a dove shoot south of the border, and it was a case a day type of shoot...no problems with a sore shoulder. Now, the sx3 has a backbored barrel which will reduce recoil. I love my 12ga 28" barrel in that gun, it goes with me everywhere with the 390 being my backup gun now...once you go to the sx3 you'll never look at another autoloader again.
