RIP Mr Spock.

Leonard Nimoy, Spock of ‘Star Trek,’ Dies at 83
Leonard Nimoy, the sonorous, gaunt-faced actor who won a worshipful global following as Mr. Spock, the resolutely logical human-alien first officer of the Starship Enterprise in the television and movie juggernaut “Star Trek,” died on Friday morning at his home in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. He was 83.

I just saw this on the news flash across my screen, "Breaking news!"

Just Wow, thought the guy would live forever.

I guess at 83 he did live a good long life. He was my fav and the only Star Trek original that still had influence and starred in and cross the generational Star Trek universe.

I will say as an science fiction icon that he is / was, I am saddened by his passing as the nerd in me is crying out loud.

Rest in peace Mr Nimoy.

I already miss him, the end of an era. I always enjoyed his appearance in each new Star Trek movie. Rest in peace!

What a drag. He was always a favorite. He used to be the narrator for some of the shows when Gates Planetarium first opened.

He had a great influence on me as I was growing up. I loved his "In search of..." and watched the original Star Trek with my Dad. I was delighted to see him in "Fringe," and in the reboot of Star Trek. He was a masterful director, had great influence in the Orthodox Jewish community, and touched more lives than we will know. Boldly go, Mr. Nimoy. Boldly go.

He had a wonderfully long career and life so I'm not mourning but I did spend a good part of the weekend watching Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, "Space Seed" (Spock meets Khan), "A Taste of Armageddon", "Devil in the Dark" (Spock can talk to rocks -- and McCoy can cure them!), "This Side of Paradise" (Spock almost gets some), "Amok Time" (Spock has a wife!), and "Journey to Babel" (Spock has parents!).

Watched Wrath of Khan, The Undiscovered Country, the TNG two part Unification episode (it was on SyFy) and the DS9 Trouble with Tribbles episode. The site was down and I had little else to do having a 3 day weekend.
