Assuming the U.S. military adopts a new pistol to replace the Beretta 92FS, what will happen to those pistols currently in service?

They will be melted into dark cobblestones to pave the way to obummer's presidential library

Think I read somewhere that they would over time be modded to the M9-A2 which will include some but not all the M9-A3 changes.

My guess is that they'll be cut up for scrap.

They may go to some 3rd world country as part of an aid package or they may sit in a warehouse. One thing for sure is that the US no longer surpluses any current weaponry.

IMHO the Beretta M9 will be our service pistol for at least 20 more years. None of the new pistols on the market offer any thing better than the M9. Use quality mags and ammo and the M9 will serve you well.

Eric Holder will dispose of them.

If my roommate's experience matches the majority, they'll hopefully be melted down for scrap. He said they were the most clapped out weapons in the Army. They rattled like a *****, they were so worn out.

The only time I shot the M9 was in boot camp, every other time I qualified and re-qualed on the pistol was the M11. I'm not a fan of either of them. Oh and you definitely don't want one, they're all clapped out and shot to shit.

Funny how the gubment can mess up a decent gun by letting it get worn out and junky. A friend was saying how worn out the one he had as an MP was beat to heck. Not that it mattered, he only got 5 rounds when he went on duty. A few years back someone dumped a ton of spare parts on the market. Should have stocked up. I love the 92fs but it is an older design and sorta big in the hands. With quite a few $400 ones out there, why even wish for a surplus one?

Only replacement for a pistol is a rifle.
