Optics Planet issue?

I've purchase an Aimpoint PRO, an EOTech EXPS2, and a SkyQuest XT8 from them in the past and all of the purchases were zero hassle at a great price. I ordered a Vortex Viper PST 1-4 MOA reticle from them on Sunday for $475. It was in stock and the website said it would ship in 5-7 business days. I got a call from them yesterday telling me that they couldn't get it to me until April 30. Their website still says it's in stock and the customer service guy had no answer for that. He said he could get me the MRAD model right away which was nice but not acceptable to me.

I was just wondering if this was common with them. My previous experiences with them have been great and one crappy transaction won't send me elswhere. I just havent been sold something that was out of stock but listed as in stock since Sandy Hook.

I've had issues with it. Local guys struggle to get them. Probably not much different for the big boys...

Could be a problem with anticipated inventory and vortex actually shipping them. Hell I think it took Noah a year to get them

i see MRADs all aover the place online and in stores. MOAs seem a bit harder to find. a capped MOA even harder. I'm was just curious if it was a systemic issue with Optics Planet or the scope or both. Or maybe just a fluke. My Bobro 201 won't be here for a while anyway.

OP is a good company, so I would not be concerned. You just have to decide if you want to wait or not. Most of the large websites are managed off overlaying dbs, and sometimes there are glitches. I would be very surprised if there is anything nefarious going on.

OP is my go to place. Not to say they can't have a glitch. They all do.

I had just the opposite problem with them A couple years ago. I ordered a Vortex in MRAD, and they contacted me saying that they couldn't get it to me for a couple months, but the MOA version could ship tomorrow. I canceled the order. And yes, their website said the MRAD was in stock.

Must be a Vortex supply problem.

Well I ordered it on Sunday. The next day they called me and said they wouldn't have it until the end of April (2 months) even though it's "in stock". Yesterday, I got shipping notification and a tracking number that indicates I should have it on Tuesday (just over a week from when I ordered). A little bit of a snafu but at least it seems to have worked out. Glad I didn't cancel my order.
