RMR for rifle optic

Anyone on here use an rmr for there main optic on an ar? I was thinking of swapping out the aimpoint pro for the led adjustable rmr to save on weight and reduced bulk compared to the pro. Any input and advice would be very appreciated.

I use one of these as the main optic on one of my ARs that is specifically set up for home defense.

The lack of batteries guarantees that it is always ready, always on
The tiny size keeps it from getting in the way or getting caught on anything while keeping weight to a minimum
The 9MOA dot is a good size for engagements up to 200yds, but a smaller dot might be preferred for anything past 100.

I've got a Fastfire III on my 10.5 carbine. No complaints as yet. Check the battery every month or so. That's about it. Works well.

Honeybadger how is it at night when it's pitch black, and what do you do when the tritium dims. Is there a replacement you can buy, what does that run? Sorry for all the questions didn't see answers on site.

I got rid of my dual illuminated RMR... If you look through it in lighting like a day lit house, and look outside the window with it, you can't see the dot... There isn't enough ambient light in some situations to make the dot brighter than the background you are trying to look at with it. At night the dual illuminated does great, as it does when a direct light is on it. It's just those times during the day when there isn't any direct light, and you're looking directly out into the daylight at something. It doesn't do that fantastic in the truck either during the day (again, no direct light when in the cab). The adjustable LED's are the way to go in my opinion with Trijicon's.
