Well since this worked so well when I planned my Pagosa Springs trip, I'm back to get some more advice. I'll be in Golden for a work thing this Thursday-Sun. My GF will be coming up Thursday night and Friday. (I only have like 3 hours of meetings on friday). I've spent a little time in Golden, but not in a few years really... Looking to see whats going on up there these days.
Looking for a nice-ish dinner for Thursday, something to do Friday afternoon, and nice dinner friday night.
I was thinking blackhawk is real close there, and maybe eat up there on friday? Thanks as usual gents.
(Yes I know the internet exists, looking for ya'lls personal recommendations)
The Briarwood (http://thebriarwoodinn.com/). Very Nice, especially for special occasions.

If you are looking for a nice place in Golden, Grappa right along clear creek is a good choice. There is also Indulge that has wine flight tasting across the street from Woody's.

A little south of Golden, The Fort.
A little south of Golden, The Fort.
Bring your Platinum Visa Card, that place isn't cheap... But damn good food.
I ate at the Table Mtn Inn years back and remember it being good. TFOGGER hit the nail on the head though, Briarwood is great. Just up I-70 in Genesee is the Chart House, they're pretty good as well.

Briarwood is also $$$$$$$$$$$. Chart house is like an 80s flashback. Fort is overrated imho. Grapa is more modern and hip.
Coors short tour.
I did that so many times when I was just out of High School that the shuttle drivers knew us by name...it was legal to drink at 18 back then.
I grew up there and didn't find out about until my roommates from Mines told me about it.

yeah I was thinking about that but the GF isn't much of a drinker or anything lol. Still may do it. I've never been myself.

Take her, she can give you her free samples, and you can get good and drunk! Win win! [Beer]

LOL. not a bad idea. get twice as drunk, and have a built in driver! lol
Briarwood, $$$$ and over-rated. Chart House, $$$$ and over-rated. The Fort, $$$$ and decent.
If I had to pick a nice place in Golden, Table Mountain Inn would be my first choice. Good variety, not cheap, but much less than the three above and the food is REALLY good.
If you want to walk around some, you can grab a Bob's Atomic Burger and stroll up a few blocks to Washington and hit the shops (I heard girls like to shop).
If you like hole in the wall, down on Old Golden there is a good family owned mexican food, El Amigo and 2 doors down Mannie and Bo' Pizza. Elote's Cafe is pretty good too. Lots of good places in Golden, just most are not the ones the Denver Tourists go to. :)
I took so many short tours (and Coors gave the Frats free beer) when I went to Mines I'd rather go thirsty than have a Coors light. :)
I like Woody's Woodfire Pizza... Great buffet lineup of pies, plus a fun place to grab a slice and a pint. But not exactly what I would call a "nice sit down" establishment, more of a hang out with the guys/jeans and tee shirt kinda joint.
The only food in Blackhawk is casino food.. I wouldn't classify it as anything special..
I'll add The Bridgewater Grill downtown.. A little bit out of town but the steakhouse on 6 and Simms is good. A few nice places in downtown Morrison as well. If the weather is nice spend a couple hours at The Golden City Brewery.

Sherpa House. Fantastic and different.
Sherpa house? Yeti Burgers...
Mannie and Bo's has great calzones (get cream cheese!!), AND you can get them half price if you go during their generous happy hour times. However, I don't remember getting food earlier than 40 minutes or so after ordering, so bring a board game.

yeah I've only been to blackhawk once, and it was more of a bachelor party situation... was trying to remember if there was something nice up there. I was thinking there might only be casino restaurants lol
