I was reading the comments of some article and came across an immigration/multiculturalism quote by former DEM Colorado Governor Dick Lamm that somebody had posted. It was so perfect I didn't believe it, so I googled it. Usually when you read a great quote it turns out to be taken out of context, or wasn't actually said. Or even if they did say it, and it's anti-liberal, Snopes will usually contort and spin their way into saying it is false.
Not only is it true that he said it, he said a heck of a lot more. Did the democrat party take this speech and make it their blueprint, or what? Looks like circa 2003. You would think this was given by a "racist" right winger circa 2015.

Lamm is an interesting guy from an age when Democrat wasn't always synonymous with Communist. Kind of puts what's happening now in perspective... Everything has shifted so far to the Left that not even a Republican would say in private what Lamm put in writing.

How correct you are.... 'tis depressing.

Quoted from Richard Lamm's speech which was brought up in a another thread. His speech was on How to Destroy America.
"Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school."
Sadder still that those that were willing to die for AMERICA,
the US Servicemen see what a train wreck our GREAT country,
has become.

Don't forget his 1984 comments that helped earn him the nickname Governor Gloom:
In 1984, his outspoken statements in support of physician-assisted suicide generated controversy, specifically over his use of the phrase "we have a duty to die." Lamm said that elderly, terminally ill patients, have “a duty to die and get out of the way... so that our kids can build a reasonable life."
In 1974, I lived in the Southwest Metro Area when, as candidate and then governor, Lamm promised for environmental reasons to "drive a silver stake" through plans to build Interstate 470, a proposed circumferential highway around the southwest part of the Denver Metropolitan Area. However, continued development in the area led to increased congestion on surface streets, and the highway was later built, largely with state funds.
He also was a presidential candidate in 1996 with the Reform Party and was defeated by Ross Perot in their primaries.
A very interesting person, who is currently at the University of Denver and serves as a mentor to students there.

From an era when some Democrats were intellectually honest and actually patriotic.
