I searched for the original thread so I could add to it, and realized it must have disappeared in the crash.

I don't recall what all I put in the original thread, but I'll do a quick version here, and add what I've experienced in the near month of using the holster.

I wanted something I could wear while running, and while wearing gym shorts either around the house, or for a quick trip to the store. I tried the 5.11 holster shirt and the belly band type holster, and they just didn't work for me.

I stumbled upon the "don't tread on me" (DTOM from now on), holster while looking for the best price on the Smart carry holster (same design). The DTOM holster was quite a bit cheaper, and was a price I was more comfortable paying to try something new. The holster arrived and I was VERY impressed with the quality, and as I stated in the last thread, I don't know that there is any more room for improvement on this hoster, compared to the more expensive one. It's a denim material, with a cloth backing, and has a "sweat shield" to protect your firearm.

Fast forward to today..... I wear this thing every night. Once I'm in for the evening, off the jeans and IWB holster go, and on the shorts and DTOM go. I had originally carried my Sig P224 in it, and as girthy and heavy as that thing was, it carried quite well in this holster. I'm now carrying my Shield 9mm almost exclusively and it just disappears in this thing.

I haven't had a chance to run with it, as I've only ran treadmill at the gym. I have slept with the holster, Shield, and one mag twice now, and it's quite comfortable (I can think of a few scenarios where actually sleeping with gun on person would be a good idea).

This is all I've got for now, I'll add a couple photos soon and post more as I use the holster more.

When running, the gun will flop around a bit (less with the light weight Shield) but you get used to it and trust that it won't go anywhere after about 100 yards.

Another update:

Still wearing it every night (now with a G43) while wearing gym shorts, and this thing is starting to spoil me. I've found that it will damn near carry my G19 with mag and small flashlight, just as comfortable as my 43 (really handles the weight well). For the most part, if I'm going to carry the G19, I'm going to be dressed "appropriately", and I really just don't like going out and about in gym shorts, but every once in awhile, I feel the need to pack some firepower AND wear gym shorts.

Also, someone had asked about wearing the holster with regular pants. The other day I wore the holster carrying the G19, with BDU pants, while working on my truck all afternoon, and it worked surprisingly well.

And how is the moisture barrier holding up?

Perfectly, granted 90% of the time I'm wearing it is relaxing at home.

Interested. I googled a quick pic and I never woulda givin it a second thought. Might be a good thing for my 238.

You will forget you have the 238. Obviously I'd recommend the smaller size holster for that pistol.

Looks good, thanks for the recommendation. It's good to have options. What size did you get?

I love my SmartCarry for deep concealment. Have worn it for 13 years with a G27 or a S&W Centennial .38. The snubby just disappears under dress pants and I often forget I'm carrying. The elastic on the velcro strap is weakening but I might repair it rather than replace it.

I got the medium, which is likely the best option if you plan to carry different sized pistols. The small probably wouldn't accommodate a G19, but the large would bury a G43.

Bring it up with you, next time you're in the area.

I have a similar holster from a company called Tactipac. That style of holster works great when you need maximum concealment while wearing a tucked shirt and no jacket. I also have a Shield and it really disappears.
