Total Home Exteriors, based in Aurora. They did our roof after the hailstorm, September of last year. Good company. If you go with them, request they send one of their employed teams, and not the sub-contractors. They did several homes in our neighborhood, and did a good job - not a wavy roof to be seen. They cleaned up the yard with a magnet.

Can't recommend a roofing company but will recommend Malarky Shingles. My mom got them about 4-5 years ago and it reduced it her insurance. Then the house that I bought 1.5 years ago had them. I called the roofing company for a certificate stating the shingles were Malarky 50 year warranty shingles and AmFam reduced my insurance too. Trying to recall but I think it was $150/year. Not sure who my mom has or what her reduction was.
They are a bit more pricey though.

I have a guy who did several of my relatives homes. At one point I thought I needed a new roof. He came by and checked it out and told me my roof didn't need to be replaced. Got to respect that kind of honesty. Would have been easy for him to tell me I needed one and get the job. When the day does come I'm calling him.

Awesome guys, thanks. Thats what I was looking for. Just didn't want to deal with a shitty company (I have done that before).

Is it pretty typical for the roofer to want to work directly with the insurance? I have already filed the claim and deposited it in an acct. Obviously I would prefer to save a little cash. I don't really see a reason for new vents or gutters, they are just going to get messed up again.

Yeah, I don't like Guaranteed Home and Building, at all. In my experience they always pad their estimates with an extra $10,000 worth of utter bullshit.

They should be happy to work with insurance, I'd be wary if they didn't want to. If you've been paid for new gutters and vents, and don't replace them, just realize that the next time there is a storm, they won't pay for them again, no matter the additional damage. Well, unless someone over looks that.

My recommendation above was recommended to us by our insurance agent. They were great to work with. We needed some new roof vents and edge flashing to get us up to the current revisions in the building code. We've already noticed that the house is cooler on warm sunny days. We have a large southern exposure.

It has been amazing to us how much quieter it is in the house during heavy downpours/hail. The old original shingles were crap.

Building Code in Aurora requires both drip edge and Ice and Water shield. Does your policy have some sort of building code endorsement by chance triggerhappy?

I would have to check my policy, its Statefarm and they are normally good on the whole claim thing.
