If you haven't heard yet, this bird flu is wiping out lots of birds in short time... Might be time to stock up a bit on some more protein!

Yeah, I knew you were stocking up! This was for those who were 'waiting'... We have some local sources as well, thank the Lord!

I have a friend who thinks this "bird flu" is related to chem trails... Wouldn't surprise me!

Only if those chem trails happen to be carrying H5N1. IMO having a massive livestock factory. In this case birds. Is a recipe for disaster. I equate it to a child care or public school for livestock. Student sneezes and 1/2 the school is out sick before end of week.

cluck, cluck, dead.

A good friend has been up in Minnesota for about 10 days now trucking in water to the poultry houses to murder the birds. They are spraying the coops full of foam to suffocate the birds. Chickens and turkeys both. It is a FEMA project and so far over 5 mil birds have been destroyed. FEMA claims we could lose more than 50% of bird population. It is currently in 16 states including Colorado. Friend may be traveling to Iowa next, then Wy and Co. fEMA thinks that it is being spread by migratory birds BUT it is moving from south to north, the migratory birds are moving north to south. Also some wide birds have been tested positive for the bird flu also.
friend says that drivers are not allowed out of trucks, there are workers there that are suited up in Tyvek with booties and all, that are handling all the work. He was told that this will be a 6 month job .

Only what he believes because he is not allowed out of the truck. Can't unroll windows or open doors either. Could be anything in them coops but he states he does not here any screaming or anything.

Even that is not enough, especially when the airborne particulates in the area, from tyvek suits, dust etc is able to be transmitted via the air flow from outside to vehicles cabin / interior.

One would "Think" CDC would have enacted more stringent guidelines to prevent transmission of an airborne pathogen, from point A-B/Z

The migration is from south to north this time of year.

I work at the USDA and we have been fully briefed on the protocols for access to the poultry farms, what was described for the truck driver is right in line with our brief.

The USDA is very concerned with this outbreak and has prioritized all resources for response.

Is the usda requiring hermetically sealed truck cabs then? And driving through bleach water as they leave the property?

Yea, I got that all backwards. Migration is south to north, Flu is north to south.
Sorry about that.

None of Zaycon's farms have been affected, and you can't beat the price. Order now and stock up, in case this bout of bird flu limits options.

I have a friend who is a turkey vet in management at a big vendor. He says the turkeys are at way more risk than the chickens. Sprouts sells breasts for 1.99 lb though.

I usually hit the turkey sales in November. Roast them all up, debone them, and can them. This year I got about 4 - 15 lb turkeys canned up.

I buried a lot of Eurasian Collared doves this winter/spring. They just seemed to fall out of our trees. Sprayed bleach around the trees, I read bird feces are the vector. This and having the flu twice in one season...

Well for the "shortage of birds & eggs. I've seen more EGGS 2 for $5. or safeways latest $0.99 per dozen. Some places are running BOGO.

We did order a case of cluckers from zaycon.

Latest news from trucker friend. USDA reports that overseas buyers of birds don't want any of our birds so they anticipate an overage and prices will drop.
He's done in Minnesota and back in North Dakota. May be going to Iowa next for bird murdering. next week.

They're not pheasant, and they are effectively choking out the mourning dove population.
DOW, or whatever their PC title is bow, removed all limits on collared doves.
They are cleared for eradication, with prejudice.
They're everywhere around my folks place in eastern Colorado.

Looks like minion number one will be in the first available Hunters Ed class. Year round practice is good for them, especially when on our property.

Now gotta start search for youth sized shotguns.

Solar Panels installed on my roof. Next day they took up residence. One call to solar city, and they are having a feathered rat abatement company come out and put cages around the sides of the panels to keep them from nesting up there. Free.
