Be happy to come down with a few suppressed guns for you to road test. The 223 sub loads are Extremely quiet.

Seriously. 223 subs? Might as well throw rocks. [facepalm]
I keed, I keed. Be interested to see your load data for those. Heavy bullets?
Seen a good size fox family alongside the county road about 2 miles from the house. Looks like they got a new den about 20 feet off the road. Like seeing them nearby, they take care of the smaller pests.

Ive did a write up on it sometime back.
55gr bullet 3gr TG, 2.20 OAL, moderate crimp. 900-1K fps on a basic chrono. When tested on some $$$ unit they shows a consistent 850fps.. Good 50- 75 yd round. 100yds you have an 8" drop. It's one of those hey why not loads. Best part is when one is showing off / road testing a home built (ATF APPROVED) suppressor. You let the 1st standard round go, then say " i wonder if they're all like that or just first round pop" 2nd round is one of the sub's. Chamber it , pull trigger, poof. That gets everyone's attention.
Even unsuippressed one has a decently quiet (less report) than a 22 out of a 16 - 18" bbl YMMV Some guys run Trail Boss There's a few topics on 223 subs out there.

Thanks, will have to search for it. Yotes been pretty quiet around here lately. Had a mole problem 2 years ago, but then I rerouted 2 of my irrigation ditches and the problem went away. [Swim]
Neighbors still got a pretty good size prairie dog town about a mile down the way. Need to get out the suppressed 10/22 and have some fun.
Yup. I popped a few of them last saturday afternoon out near CRC on a friend of a friend's land (with him). I had one of those lucky, yet intentional shots, using a .223 55gr psp where two pups were side by side... I aimed 3" low and managed to get both of them with splash. Soft skinned little pricks.
All in all we hit around 25 of them in less than an hour (2 shooters).
why isn't this in the Co-ar15 meetup thread?

hahaha good luck confirming your kills. You won't be able to tell if the parts you find are from one or 4 of the vermin. :)

People are reluctant to share their pdog popping spots with other shooters... Wouldn't you be?

I just got word that the poisoning efforts at my spot were less than successful. The landowner wants me and my boys out ASAP. [AR15]

Our favorite spot is currently under 10" water. Could only see a couple of the taller mounds in the water.[emoji35]
My boy delivered pups about 2wks ago, unfortunately none survived.........
