I'll get this started. Bighorn sheep and Mtn. Goat results are posted. I only added to my points total for the both this year, however under my dads results the word SUCCESFULL was next to his application for DESERT BIGHORN SHEEP. I don't know who was more excited, him or me. Good luck to everyone n the rest of the draw.

Im still confused as to how the Draw works. I put in for preference points for Elk, and below that i put in for 2nd season. Am I guaranteed a point and therefore anything after a point is pointless?

You are guaranteed a preference point as it was your first choice, your second choice will be awarded if there are tags leftover for that choice after everyone's first choice have been selected. If you checked the box to have a 2nd season general tag instead of a refund then that's what you will receive along with your first choice preference point. Preference points are only used and received for your first choice. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th choice do not use or gain you points.

For those of you that don't know the trick you can cheat today and figure out if you at least got some sort of deer tag. Doesn't tell you what choice until the draw release date but you can at least get a little excited knowing you have a tag coming. Deer has only been drawn currently. Pronghorn and Elk are still pending, I will post when Pronghorn and Elk are up when I find out.

go to Habitat Stamps & Other Licenses section
In the list of Products on File at the bottom your 2015 Apps will be a 4XX RES Deer App. If you drew a deer tag it will also show a 5XX RES Deer.
The 5XX number indicates you drew a deer tag.

Well I have a 5XX under bear. Plus all others have the word "APP" at the end and they are 4XX. Does that mean I have a bear tag coming?

So since both my wife and I don't have a 5xx for deer, we won't be getting one? Fine, I guess I'll just run over a few more of the corksoakers and play dodge-deer all summer on the motorcycle cursing like I have Tourette's every time one tries to kill me.

They must have drew Bear then according to PortSider's results. Still haven't heard if Pronghorn or Elk have drawn yet.

Guess so, both my dad & I have 5XX for bear everything else is 4XX. I think I had 3 pts for Bear and zero for everything else so it makes sense.
Guess I got my ES deer tag.

Either sex deer archery for me! Pretty excited out east took 6 years but I got it :-)
Pronghorn is now available via 5xx code
Looks like I got my ES archery deer tag.
Hopefully my brother and buddy got theirs. We should have a nice month of hunting in paradise.

My son and I both got 2nd choice antelope. No deer or elk. Now up to 5 points for elk and 3 for deer. Freezer is getting more and more bare.

I think thats the shortfall, it all depends on what you applied for. I got a deer tag, but don't know if its antlered or non-antlered since I put it for both choices.
The whole hunting process here in CO just confuses the shit out of me, and CPW isn't much help. I called and asked if I could come in and learn how it works, and they won't allow that anymore. They should have classes for us newbies! The hunter safety class doesn't cover it much. Frustrating as hell, I wanna play too.....

I feel you..I just do what my buddy tells me to do since I am new to CO also. Bad news is he didn't get a deer tag so I hope he gets an elk tag...or else I may not have a hunting buddy!

I'm new to hunting and just do what my hunting partner tells me to do as well. We put in as a group so if one draws, everyone draws; apparently.

Well, certainly don't go off what I say. I've successfully drawn ONCE in my life. I don't even understand the draw; just repeating what I read in here.
Got me elk too. WOW all 3 this year, going to be busy.

I finally pulled deer and elk after 5 years. My wife is on board this year as well. She really wanted to get into it this year so she has a new Weatherby .308 and a deer and elk tag to go along with me! So excited to get her out in the field.

Mine's in January, doesn't get much later than that; two co-workers both showed 1st Rifle draw this morning.

I didn't even try to draw in Colorado this year. Colorado DOW hates Colorado residents. I drew for muzzleloader either sex deer in southeast Kansas unit 11.

congrats on the sheep tag. What area did you draw? I had my dad start applying for Desert Bighorn a few years ago and he drew S62. So I'm turning in my fourth season elk tag so I can help him find a sheep. Good luck. And remember, no matter how good of shape you think you are in, sheep shape is on a whole other level. I learned that last year on my Dall sheep hunt.

Congrats on the sheep tag. I've gotten my deer and moose refunds, so no joy on them. I'll get my antelope doe tag, and I'll get a refund for elk since I go OTC archery.

I learned that last year on my Dall sheep hunt.
I'm in S21, I live in the Valley between Ridgway and Ouray. I can sit on my deck with a spotting scope and watch the Bridge of Heaven area I will be hunting. This terrain out here is harsh, I will have all summer to train. On the gun, still haven't decided. Probably a 30.06 or 7mm. Hell I might use a win94 30-30 iron sights, light and easy to sling around. A .308 or .270 would work well. I do like .243 in windy areas. A .300blk with sbr and a 3 point sling would hike well. Then again I will probably be bear and elk hunting at the same time so the .50 muzzle might be with me. Hell I don't know.

I think they are slacking over at Dow on getting the results posted. They haven't posted the results for the moose draw yet but I already received my refund check, and dads bighorn tag showed up the day after results were posted. At least the money and tag department are on their game.

APP is short for application. Showing that you applied in the draw. The 590 code means you where succesful for one of your choices for that species, you just won't know which one until results are posted.
DOW website draw results page is showing a server error message right now, which always happens when they are posting results. Results will be available shortly. Good luck, hope everyone gets a good tag.

Got archery for elk...so many awesomeness
5 strikes and I am out! First time ever I did not get drawn for a single tag (put in for 5). My 13 year old got drawn for Muzzleloader Deer and Elk. Now to search and see if the 11 year old can hunt deer under the new law that just passed.

Youths can apply for license at age 11 as long as they turn 12 before the end of the season date on the license, however they cannot hunt until they turn 12.
Lars, they just passed a new law that goes into effect July 1 that "changes" that. Both my boys took and passed hunter safety with excellent scores when they were 7 and 9, so I am not sure why this bill was needed, but if my 11 year old can hunt, he will.
Last Thursday, Senate Bill 226 (http://www.leg.state.co.us/clics/clics2015a/csl.nsf/fsbillcont/BC1D8B749B1F6BFE87257DE00060B25E?Open&file=226_01.pdf), introduced by state Senator Jerry Sonnenberg (R-1), unanimously passed (http://www.leg.state.co.us/CLICS/CLICS2015A/csljournals.nsf/3C2D62D305D3DAB18725698300768538/9245DCC782FFDD2887257E370055293D/$FILE/Ap30.pdf?OpenElement) its final vote in the full House of Representatives and is now headed to Governor John Hickenlooper (D).
As previously reported (https://www.nraila.org/articles/20150330/colorado-hunting-bill-looks-to-place-more-hunters-in-the-field), SB 226 would give hunters who are at least 10 years of age the ability to go into the field to hunt, as long as they are accompanied by someone at least 18 years of age or older who has successfully completed hunter education training. This bill would also remove the mandated 10 hour training requirement for obtaining a hunter education license but would still keep training in place by a division certified instructor.
Muzzleloader deer is a go. Looks like OTC for elk though.

First timer (for Elk) here - looks like I landed 580 Res Elk.
Now to finish out my shopping list, starting with a new frame pack. My old one from boy scouts won't cut it. My wife isn't going to like how much I spend on this hunt... gotta spread it out over the next few months!

You don't have to buy top of the line, but the old saying holds true with hunting gear..... Buy once, cry once. Nothing will ruin a hunt faster than a cheap pair of boots, or wet clothes, or a pack that wasn't made to do what is asked of it.

I hear you, and have certainly started to learn to live by that saying the last 4-5 years after buying cheap quality products a couple times and regretting it. If product quality and price were a sliding scale (0-100), I'd say I've shifted from 65ish up to 85ish. So, not top of the line, but very respectable quality in anything I buy/build now. I have great boots, clothes, knives, rifles, camping gear, etc. but need to get a big-game pack and binoculars, at the very least.
Darn, didn't get my elk tag. But I did get my muzzleloader deer tag. So its not all bad.

I drew a buck tag for Fort Carson, anyone hunt deer there before? I hunted elk at Pinyon Canyon two years ago.
My son got his first Elk tag; should be a fun hunt. I didn't draw anything so I am watching this year.

I drew muzzle Cow and Doe. Going to shoot for an OTC muzzle bear when they go on sale.
Well at least I got elk. Struck out on everything else.

I was organizing some paperwork just this week and found the original tags in the original envelope. Doh.
Tough draw this year. Looks like I didn't get elk, deer, or pronghorn. Disappointing but now it's on to plan B.
