View Full Version : What cartridge?
So I clearly remember that during the ammo drought there was one cartridge that was always available.
Was it a 260 Rem?
How is it for long range shooting?
The 260 is a solid choice for long range shooting.
However there are very few factory loadings made for long range shooting and not hunting.
Agreed that I have to reload for long range precision. It would be nice if regular ammo was available in stores in a pinch. Especially during the recurring ammo droughts.
Still not sure if it was the 260 that was always in store shelves.

One cartridge that was always on the shelf was 30-30
I would find 270 every where I went. And 7mm most places. .308 was out everywhere I went, along with the obvious 5.56, .223, 22lr, pistol rounds.

Locally here there still is no 270. Even through last hunting season it is still not on the shelves... but there is plenty of 30-30 and 223

Really?? I lived in Cheyenne when the great ammo rushed happened. Shelves were empty except for 270 and 7mm. Crappy rounds, but to some people rounds were rounds. at the time, I had neither a 7mm or 270.
