To shoot, or not to shoot...

I bought a new Beretta 92-A1 a few months ago, and added the D-spring to improve the trigger pull, added the Wilson Combat thin grips and short reach trigger to improve the handling for those of us with medium sized hands, and swapped out the factory ambi-safety for the Wilson Combat low profile unit to eliminate the potential for accidentally putting it on safety when executing a tap-rack-bang procedure. It's the Beretta I always wanted, or at least used to want, since I still haven't gotten around to shooting it. I guess I am a bit burned out on shooting these days, and don't see actually carrying this (I carry a Kahr) or using it for home defense (I use others for that). So, I'm considering selling it. My question is do I at least take it for a spin before selling it? I guess that comes down to how much would shooting it reduce its sale value. Right now, I have $850 in it (since the base gun is more expensive than the standard 92fs). I could always part it out, but that's a pain in the butt, and it is really an awesome example of the 92 platform as is. What say all of you?

I never put $$ in to anything before i try it out. I say shoot the gun "You always wanted" . We both know you're not going to recoup the parts $$ invested. OR.. Like Ray said, sell it unfired. IMO you still loose money.

You find the right sucker... uh, buyer... you might get a good deal of your money back out of it. Maybe not here, but Armslist. There's more suckers... oops, buyers... in there.

Shoot it. If I we're in the market for a 92-A1 and you put 100rds down it, I wouldn't expect a decent mark down. I'd still consider it "new". Now on the other hand if the finish is worn it's a different story.

Not tired of sex, just don't have time to get out shooting much with work, kids, etc. I've owned B92s on and off for years, and this one addresses the shortcomings of all the ones I've owned. I guess I'll just shoot it when I get a chance. If I don't love it, I'll take it back to stock and part it out on eBay. Every time I buy new, I take a hit when I sell, but this one just called to me...
