Anyone know of anywhere in the Denver area that has CCI small pistol primers in stock? My local source (Green mountain guns) is out, and I was surprised that cabellas was out as well.

I usually have good luck at the local Walmart for CCI small pistol primers.

Sportsmans Warehouse
Bit of a trip for you, but they've been well stocked on primers lately.
You could call & check inventory before going.

Sportsmans up here has all the CCI except the small pistol. They have small pistol magnum though. They do regularly have a few boxes of some brand of small pistol primers for $35.99 though. I think it has been the same three boxes on the shelf for months.

Let me check my stash. If I have enough, I can trade for large pistol magnum primers.

Sportsmans was out yesterday.

I have 2k Small Pistol Magnums though, I didn't read the package correctly and bought them by mistake. I don't need that many magnums.

If magnums will work, let me know and we'll make a deal/trade.

Ft Morgan, Brighton store sucks all around.

If anybody needs some shoot me a PM, they pretty much always have CCI 500.

Well, late night web surfing pays off. Third Gen had CFE pistol 1 pounders in stock for $19 each. Got 8 of them, and threw in 3 boxes of CCI 500 primers.

8 pounds is probably nothing for most of the reloaders around here but the wife will bitch when she sees how much I ordered. She burns up the ammo too, so she can't complain too much.

Have her browse a few LGS for current ammo prices / availability. She'll quiet down.

I have a bunch if you really need them and want to come down to get them. You can replace them when you can.

Well....... since you posted this and today. it seems i'm down to my last 2K of LPP. Having some SPP i'd be willing to swap you 1-2K or Small Pistol for equal of your Large Pistol. Of course the drive might be a deal killer.

SMP will work, just reduce load / don't load @ max data. I used them in a pinch and went with a 10% reduction starting on the low end.

FWIW: Small Rifle will work. However they might not ignite if used in a revolver or other hand gun that had lighter springs, due to the harder cup.

May not be helpful to you, but the Magnum Shooting Center by Bass Pro north of the Springs seems to be getting all supplies in pretty regularly. I pick up CCI primers there all the time and even got a couple pounds of H4895 the other day. They don't have a huge supply, but they seem to get in some of the things that the big boxes have trouble keeping on the shelves.

Sportsmans and the North Cabelas are all out of CCI No 500 small pistol primers and have been since this thread was started. Cabelas at least has the Winchester SPP for the same $32.99 as Sportsmans.

Cabelas North had 5 bricks of CCI No. 500 tonight (I bought two) for $28. Sportsmans hasn't been getting them and sells them for $30.
