Anyone know what kind of bayonet this is?

My Mom used this as a gardening tool. After many decades of slaying weeds all the markings have been worn away. Its days as a bayonet have passed since the barrel ring was cut off and any hardware for locking it to a lug was removed. Kind of curious if anyone knows what kind of bayonet it once was?

Mauser 1884/98 III bayonet for the 98k? If it is stop digging in the garden with it they are worth some coin.

Wow. Thanks for the info. I looked up images for a Mauser K98 bayonet and there it is. So I guess it isn't missing a barrel ring or hardware. I just ASSumed it had been modded since I've only ever messed with AK, AR and HK bayonets and they have rings and buttons. My Mom would have laughed her ass off knowing she was breaking up dirt and weeds with this thing and it's worth money. Guess I'll clean it up the best I can and put back in the box with her other tools. Thanks again.
