Just got done with my first build. What a fun time. I know this is pretty run of the mill for you experienced builders but I am surprised at how straight forward it really was. I just used Youtube and the instructions at the other AR site and it went together pretty easily. I think building these is like crack or potato chips, I'm ready to do it again.

I did make one mistake though I installed the trigger guard in backwards and as I was hammering away at the roll pin I had this weird feeling something wan't right and sure enough if you drive a roll pin in better have a way of getting it out. Well Bert at BP Tactical helped me get her squared away and all is good.

Going to put a Nikon Buckmaster 6-18 x 40 on because I have an extra one. Thinking about the one piece Burris rings, any thoughts on them, don't want quick release.

Shoots sub MOA at 100 yards, looking to see how she does a little further out.

Anderson Mfg Lower $50
JSE Rifle Kit $400
Magpul FDE hand guard $0 Fat Bot Tactical swapped it out no charge
Magpul FDE SL Stock $50 Midway
BCG FDE Hand Grip $10 Skully

Congrats! Looks good. Building them is definitely an addiction. With how cheap the prices are, Ive found myself saying "why not?" as deals come up. It's like cars, I could find a reason to have one for every day of the week. Haha.

BTW, I love FDE. Good choice.

I was wondering about the "sea foam green" furniture in the first picture. Then I scrolled down and saw the second picture. [Beer]

The gun is cool, but the vise in the kitchen is bad ass.[Score]

I have a used = g-vg take off burris pepr mount (30mm) NOT a QD, available. The last board member who wanted it flaked out, his second mistake.

I've had the QD and went back to standard fixed mount. Realistically with something other than a RDS do you really need a QD mount?

How do you know how well it shoots with no optics on it?

I suppose you are going to want to see the target for proof next?

thanks, I bolted it to a banquet table and made a little work space. There is a giant window looking out over downtown right in front of the vise. I'm surprised no one called SWAT.

Shot it as far as I can see, need the glass to go past 100 yards

Thanks Kazoo, I believe the Nikon is 1 inch. Don't think it will fit, will it?

Thanks I liked the FDE too, it balances out the black nicely.

So you shot it with no optics and not visible sights mounted at 100yrds? Sub moa by just "winging it" is impressive ... Details?

I'm sure it was kind of like using a shotgun to shoot skeet. Just sight down the top of the receiver.

Reminds me of my kitchen when I was working on dirt bikes. Wheel balancer with wheel, on kitchen table, carbeurator boiling on the stove, and painted exhaust pipes in the oven......no wonder she left me. [Coffee]

Now that brings back memories of Karting, like rebuilding engines on the floor of the motel room. [Flower]

When my soon to be wife moved into my apartment there was no kitchen table. A very nasty little 302 with a tunnel ram was in its place and a built up 9 inch was under the stereo stand.

Got ya beat, I was caught with a 1/2 way disassembled Honda 750 engine in my wall locker in the barracks during an unannounced inspection.
