Looking to pick one up but due to some reported issues with finish quality I would like to buy in person rather than over the 'net. As of a couple weeks ago Sportsman's had the .357 but no the .327. Thanks

What kind of issues are you referring to? I've owned one since those came out (08-09), and I don't have any finish issues with it. I'm not trying to sharp-shoot you, I'm merely inquiring to gather some info that I might have missed.

I'm not aware of any "finish issues" with the SP101 either. I'm a bit curious about that as well.
I was looking for an SP101 in 327 for a while but they were really hard to find and when I did come across them they wanted way too much for them. Of course I was looking for the three inch one they used to make. I see they are offering a four inch version now.

USA Liberty Arms in Fort Collins had the .327 as of last Saturday.

There have been reports of the new .327 version sometimes have issues with polishing and general finish. The same things were being said about the single seven in .327 but the one I got is great.

I said the hell with it and bought one off Gbroker today. Gotta order some grips the standards are too small.

I've heard good things about the Pachmayr grips for the SP-101.

Grips are the one thing that I've replaced after firing a box thru it. I installed a set of Hogue's on it, and it is much better now. She's still a handful when you push loads to their limit tho.
