I want to build a target stand for steel plates, need some 3/4" pipe and fittings. Too cheap to buy new stuff, and nasty, rusty, old stuff is all that's needed. Anybody know of a place to get some? Or have any laying around you want to get rid of?

Wanna build this.....

So do I, but my power wagon won't often make it very close to where I want my targets. Ron, I'm sure you already have a good idea how far you have to lug the targets to get them setup, but it's something for the new guys who think this is a good idea to consider.

Yes indeed, not something you'd want to schlep very far I'm sure. I shoot at BLGC though, and I can typically drive right up to the berm at whatever range I want to use. So this would work good for me. Should work good anywhere, if you have a truck and can drive to the target location. But it also screws together, could easily be taken down too. Nothing says it has to be screwed together tightly.

+1 for a re-store. Maybe that surplus place on alameda. Maybe 1" pvc would do the trick with only the top crossmember being steel. Then, Home Depot would be affordable.

Western Scrap and recycle on South Drennon Loop sells such stuff. I buy scrap lead from them. You will need to bring a cutting tool.

Oooo, scrap lead too? Yowza!

Damn, Colorado Springs. No savings there.....

Anyone know anything about Bud's Warehouse?

Bud's has a lot of tile, toilets, light fixtures, and TONS of doors and windows. I don't know that I've seen a lot of scrap metal there. I think the outdoor yard at a Habitat is probably a better bet. Someone was just telling me today that there is a place just East of Buds called something like Extras that has a lot of finish trim and doors as well; but that's off topic.
