Haven't had a chance to fully research this, but from gunnews.com: http://www.gunnews.com/ups-will-ship-suppressors-anymore/

Searched for this and didn't find, so hope this is not a re-post.

Every day, United Parcel Service (UPS) delivers over 15 million packages around the world. Now, not one of those packages will contain suppressors. Recently, UPS made the decision to stop all shipping of suppressors, even between those who are licensed.
So far, there have been no statements from UPS as to why this is.
“NSSF is working with UPS executives to determine what prompted the enforcement of this unwarranted policy. We are unaware of any thefts or losses that would explain the shipping company’s sudden decision to enforce a prohibition against shipment,” the National Sports Shooting Foundation stated in a press release.

UPS has not made an official statement on the change, but it has been confirmed that their policy changes have been listed on their website, stating that firearm “mufflers” and silencers will no longer be shipped by the company:
UPS accepts firearm parts for shipment, provided the part is not a ‘firearm’ as defined under federal law; the contents of the package cannot be assembled to form a firearm; and the package otherwise complies with federal, state, and local law. (Note: Receivers or frames of a firearm are considered “firearms” and are accepted for transportation only if shipped in accordance with UPS’s requirements for shipping firearms; firearm mufflers and silencers are not accepted for transportation.)
UPS users have criticized this decision on the business’ social media accounts. “Banning shipping suppressors? We’ll be shipping Fed-Ex,” one now-former customer wrote. Another said, “UPS is a disgrace. Resume shipments of firearms & other firearm-related items or UPS will lose ALL of my business.”
Note that UPS does allow the shipment of firearms to licensed dealers, collectors, manufacturers, etc. where it is not forbidden by local laws. Dealers, manufacturers, and importers are also able to ship firearms among themselves using UPS.
The NSSF says that suppressors can make shooting sports more safe because they reduce hearing impairment and especially are useful during hunting season. They also state that suppressors “help make shooting ranges more neighborly.”
The NSSF expressed that they and other groups in the industry are working with UPS to come to some sort of compromise on the policy change.

I sent mine in for repairs via USPS. That's how the manufacturer requested, even sent me a shipping tag.
This is another step, like the Green Tip ammo ban towards limiting one's right to shoot. Politics as usual which grass roots anti-gun orgs tout as another step towards common sense safety.

Every suppressor distributor I use but one uses UPS. The last time I received a shipment of suppressors by USPS, 10 suppressors were magically lost and to date have never been found. Good thing that wasn't on my dime.

Obviously there are a lot of people all over this one. Lots of rumors... that this only is being done because of insurance and they'll still ship them, that it might only apply to UPS stores, that it's a regional/driver decision, etc.
Too soon to tell how it'll end up.

I'm sure Fedex won't mind getting some more business.

Until the DOJ/ATF ask them not to do it anymore too.

I say BS.. seeing that the only place this reported is on gun and conspiracy websites as well as you can go to the UPS home page where they have the news section that details all changes in shipping info as they are released and there is nothing there to do with suppressors or firearms in general.

OK.. Found this on the UPS website.. As far as UPS is saying there is no policy change on suppressors:

"UPS accepts for shipment certain firearms, firearms ammunition and firearms accessories as long as the shipments comply with applicable law and are shipped in accordance with company policies. These shipments must be between licensed manufacturers, dealers, collectors and importers and government agencies, or, where not otherwise prohibited by law, between such licensees and individuals, but exclude consumer-to-consumer shipments. UPS has for many years restricted shipments of silencers or mufflers as part of the company's firearms and ammunition policy. The company's general policy is available at the following link (https://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/ship/packaging/guidelines/firearms.html).UPS recently became aware of a shipper that tendered silencers for shipment. Consistent with the general policy, UPS informed the company that it could no longer accept shipments of packages containing those specific products. UPS will engage in discussions with licensed manufacturers about ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regarding the potential establishment of a contractual exception to the general policy under which UPS may ship such products. These discussions will occur on a company-by-company basis and are proprietary.
Q. Why did you change the policy?
A. There was no policy change, UPS has for many years excluded shipping silencers as part of our general policy on firearms and related items.
Q. Why single-out silencers?
A. UPS uses the general policy to ensure that appropriate exceptions are carefully reviewed and documented. The general policy exists because there are different laws state-to-state that ban or restrict ownership of silencers. UPS is sensitive to these different statutes and to the existence of National Firearms Act licensing requirements and the Special Occupational Tax associated with these silencers.
We seek to ensure that our customers have in place adequate managerial controls to ensure compliance with all applicable laws. We understand that 11 states currently ban possession of silencers. We must have reasonable confidence, supported by adequate due diligence, to expect that shipments tendered by our customers comply with all laws governing the contents of the package."

Basically it reads to me that in general they do not ship them and never have unless the manufacturer/company has an agreement that has been set up with UPS ahead of time.

^^ They have in the past. However it's like sending a long gun OOS. It's going back to the manf. for repairs.

UPS is the worlds largest shipper of DRUGS, if they don't know what it is they don't care and ship away.
Have always sent "motorcycle" parts via ups.

Given UPS's track record of being able to ship to two or three random states before a package gets to its destination, maybe they want to make sure that a package of suppressors under their control doesn't end up in a prohibited state while en route.
