View Full Version : Never overload your cheap trailer
This guy must have had a few thousand lbs of sod on a harbor freight trailer. They were unloading the sod from the trailer and putting it in the truck when I drove by. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/24/acb5fbbae6a7e77681bc169fab3557f3.jpg

He's trying to undo a knot in his sneakers, waiting on Triple A.

I've heard of folks snapping truck axles by filling their beds with sod. I wonder if he experienced that 5 miles down the road.
I bet he did with that Tacoma. They only hold like 150lbs in the bed!
Wonder what the axle size was on that trailer?
Must have been a Dodge axle. Hahaha

Yeah...just thinking that little truck is already showing the strain from the weight. A few more rolls of that sod on the tailgate isn't going to help.

"Just one more roll"
5 pcs of sod, maximum load.
Anyone 'stupid enough to want to mow grass will have other problems in life.
I got rid of the grass in my front yard a couple years ago. Rented a sod cutter I guess it was called. Put a ad in Craigslist for free sod u haul and a lady showed up in a mini van. That made a mess.

It says right there on Toyota tailgates "For display purpose only".
Harbor Freight: When you have $20 and need a generator to last until dawn.
That looks like a full sized tire on the trailer and where did the missing tire go? Probably out in traffic! When he gets the trailer empty is he just going to drag it home? Why not leave some sod and load it when you come back with an empty truck to get the trailer? Maybe it's cheaper to buy a package deal, new trailer axle, new trailer tires, new Toyota tailgate and possibly new Toyota rear axle. I bet he's having second thoughts on paying a little extra to have the sod delivered.
Boy I'm in big trouble if that was too much of a load. I had two pallets of sod over 900 square feet on a single axle trailer and in the bed of ranger all the way from Wheatridge to Thornton. No issues granted the trailer isn't a harbor freight special it is little utility trailer that has been around for years used and abused you know the kind the plate is bent to hell and the lights are all busted and don't really work anyhow and tough as nails.

I don't think a Dodge has seen the front end of a trailer. It's used to being towed on them, not pulling them.

Rough crowd! So, does the lifting of sod and throwing into the bed count as crossfit? [Coffee]
And Ridge FTW:

Only if they're doing it for time... I suppose moving sod could be a metcon. But I've only ever done it with a beer in hand. Wait.. I've done a metcon and drank before too. Yep.. It's crossfit

You guys are like the anti's obsessed with my penis. You're really just jealous.
Psst, all RAM trucks since 2003 use AAM axles, yea, GM. I'd rather have a Dana 80.

Not if they don't tell anyone about it. True crossfiters would be going door to door to preach about the "Sod Wod."
Wish those sod wodders would bring about 10 pieces to my house, need to pick up a few
