View Full Version : What's your favorite salsa?
I really like like Los Dos here in Highlands Ranch and El Zarape but they are in Garden City Kansas so can't get it often.

The best salsa is whatever I happen to throw together.

This. I'll go to the store and buy a bunch of peppers, cilantro, tomatoes (usually tomatilloes), spices, etc. Throw it in the blender and eat with chips. I like to throw 5 or 6 habaneros in there regardless of what I make.

Yup, although my recipe is quite specific.
Mild. I can't handle anything else.
The one my wife cans biannually. Similar to pace, but more restaurant style.
Papasito's in Houston. Lots of cilantro.
Homemade.
You folks who settle for any thing off the shelf make me sad. [facepalm]

Sadie's "Not As Hot"
I cannot stand cilantro. Anything without cilantro that's medium-to-hot.

Seems like most either love it or hate it.

Los Dos Potrillos? Theirs is ok . . . a little "liquidy" for my tastes. I like a little more texture than theirs usually has. I really like the warm salsa that Salsa Brava has. Their pineapple habanero is pretty good, too.
For store bought, I have been liking the Frontera Double Roasted Tomato. There are better, more expensive ones out there but this one is decent for the price.
Off the shelf, Religious Experience.
Otherwise, homemade.

Yep, very polarizing... It's actually genetic. http://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2012/09/14/161057954/love-to-hate-cilantro-its-in-your-genes-and-maybe-in-your-head
Anything that doesn't make me cry. Wonder how many folks we could get together for a Salsa and Chips fiesta?

Wow, I was not aware, thanks for the link.
The kind that is on my chip.
I'm hungry for chips and salsa now.

Pretty much like them all. Salsa is a staple for me, eat it daily.
Favorite is from little Mexican restaurant in Wiggins. I buy a quart almost weekly.

Exactly. I'd prefer my own, but off the shelf Religious Experience has to be towards the top of the list.

Also, Religious Experience is NOT made in New York City. It's made in Colorado (Grand Junction IIRC).

I've certainly been going out of my way to buy Colorado lately, so that's a plus.
