View Full Version : Alien gear holster

Just a heads up , took advantage of the "two holster combo $49.88". Just got them in the mail yesterday and I'm really impressed. Didn't have high hopes for the price but I'm impressed. Got the iwb 2.0 and the owb for a friend. Neoprene is nice and soft and came with a bunch of extra spacers and screws to make it fit perfect. Free replacement kydex shell offered for the life of it. Owb holster is really nice too, all leather with kydex shell and lots of availability for different clips.
Just letting you guys know if you want a nice holster for a great price then try them out.

I recently bought their two holster deal as well. IWB 2.0 Cloak and an OWB. I love the idea of being able to change the shells out to fit other guns. Shipping was about two weeks and I'm impressed. I am a little worried that the neoprene will become an issue in the hotter months but time will tell.
I don't own any of their stuff (yet) but another board that I have been on for a long time has a bunch of guys who have pretty high praise for the Alien Gear stuff. They seem to really like it and recommend it. Right now, I have a White Hat MicroTuck that I really like and an Incog that I use for appendix carry occasionally. I may try Alien Gear at some point for another gun.
I tend to be hot and sweat easily . . . so I am also a bit leery of the neoprene. The horsehide on the White Hat has been great.

I've heard nothing but good things about their product and customer service.
hmmm.... i might have to give them a try.
What i've heard is their shipping is slow. Someone ordered a holster and just got a base.

We (wife and I) LOVE ours. She has the standard IWB and I have both the standard and cloak 2.0. I have spoken to them on the phone and found them SUPER helpful.
I might look into one for my 19. Not sure though. I don't really like the crossbreed type holsters. Feels like I have too much stuff in my pants.

Yeah I agree, plus I already have enough of that issue naturally.......

This damn site and my wallet.....
Pretty set on a apendix for smaller carry guns. But this looks really nice to try for the 1911's. Going to give one a try.
Mine took right at 2 weeks to get here.

I haven't had any issues with my Alien Gear holsters, got both IWB and OWB. I've also had great success with Multi Holsters and Foxx! All roughly the same price range, depending on options/styles...

If it's anything like the Mtac I use, I had the same thought initially until I realized it wasn't after very much use until the hide was all Glock shaped and retention would be an issue with anything other than a Glock.
I've used the 2.0 cloak for almost a year and I've had no issues with retention. But that's because they mold the shell to you specific gun. If you change guns you can order a new shell for no extra cost. Its even comfortable in the summer time. Side note, I have seen them now in centennial gun club. I plan on getting one for my G42.

I have this same issue, but it's only because the shell they sent me wasn't formed correctly so the "nub" that holds the trigger guard doesn't go down far enough and there is zero retention no matter how tight I make it. Nothing like having your cocked and locked gun bounce down stairs in front of a bunch of people who didn't previously know you were carrying...

I have to modify the retention or shape of some sort in all my Kydex holster, short of my BladeTech which is only for gaming. Use a heat gun on the areas you want to increase/decrease retention. When you think you have it where you want it, hold a wet rag over the area to cool it. You can do this multiple times to get it right.

That had to be a moment like the lug nut scene in A Christmas story.
