View Full Version : COAR Golf Club 2015 Edition
That time of the year again shooters!
Time to start up the golfing again for this fine year. We had a good time with this last year, with a couple semi-regulars, and lots of guest appearances from other members. Gonna try to shoot for one game per week again, but like last year there will probably be a couple gaps when schedules just don't work out. Lat year we did a good job of searching for deals, and keeping the costs to around $30 per person most weeks including a cart. The typical crowd shoots an 85-105 I'd guess, and as long as you are cool with some casual play, you are welcome.
I'll start looking into some Tee Times, and post up here. Who is interested? Let me know what days/times typically work for you. We will try to rotate schedules to ensure that more people have an opportunity to join. I try to fill up in four-somes, but am totally willing ot book a couple back to back if we have 8 or even 12 people wanting to join.
So, who wants to get in some casual golf?
You know what a golf course is?
Waste of a perfect shooting range ;)
Used to play,,2 torn rotators, broke wrist,,just can't do it anymore.
Some good hunting friends of mine that have a lot of land discussed doing an offense/defense based golf game on a few holes we setup on their land. 2vs2. One team starts offense, and the team on defense gets to have shotguns with birdshot to play defense against the balls when in flight.
But for this discussion, just standard golf, no shooting.
Man, the last time I played Golf was a loooong time ago, and that was golf cart polo. Had to be done in teams. One guy drove the cart as fast as he could, the other guy leaned out the right side and tried to hit the ball when driving by.
I like golf but I'm on the south side of town.
I never made it to any rounds in 2014, although I intended to. I'll follow this thread again and do my best to make it out a couple or three times this year! Thanks for orchestrating, J.

I would like to. My schedule is too random to lay anything out there. If something fits I will try to make it out.
I dunno, last time I played golf the windmill kept kicking all my puts back....[LOL]
Depending on what weekend it falls I might stop by and tie them blades up on that darn windmill.....[Coffee]

I would be in if we do a scramble....
I'd be in for a game or two if my schedule allows it. I am south of y'all too. Check with stavros too,
Put me down on the list. I should be able to make some outings.

Id be interested if it was down south and in the afternoon so I dont have to take a full day of work off.

You weren't friends with Hunter S. Thompson by any chance?

Wow. Nice! We came up with the idea on our own, but guess we weren't the first.
If I played golf the places I could take you guys to play.. Riviera, Olympic, Dallas National, Desert Mountain, Cherry Creek, Colorado Golf.. Southern Hills...
Probably a few others locally too..
Alas.. I'm with SNAFU.. I'd rather see some 1000 yd ranges.
