It's awesome seeing more and more matches popping up.
1st Saturday would have been awesome but I understand. My focus right now is USPSA but I'll try to make it to one of these in the future.
Can you clarify stage 3? "Rest completely on shooting bench" ? So no bipod?
Sorry that is suppose to be sticks or tripods.

I have been shooting the pueblo matches for the last 2 years, and it has been really unfortunate that Colorado Springs hasn't had a Precision Rifle Match of any kind that I know of... I suppose the problem has been the lack of a proper venue. If this match is received well, I am hoping to shift over to the 1k range and get a true long range match going. Just depends on how things work out.
Just wanting to remind everyone that we will be shooting this Saturday at 9am.
Will one of the other ranges be open for a quick sight in ?
Yes. When you pay the 15.00 match fee you are able to shoot on any other range for the rest of the day.
Fun times today. Thanks for doing all the work it took to get this match underway.
See you next month.

Great to see you out there Hoser! That was some impressive single feeding, don't forget your magazine next time. LOL
Thanks for the input you gave me for future matches, I appreciate the advice. Now that we have permission to step it out to 600yds, the matches should get more interesting over the next few months.
See ya soon.
Would have been there if not for work. Maybe next week. Glad it went well!

Will the distances be known or do we need a LRF ??
Gotten kind of spoiled with everything at 300.
Distances will be known. Probably not a bad Idea to bring your LRF, to verify.
There will be a match this weekend Saturday Oct 24 @ 9am. Targets to 800yds.

Good times today. Thanks for getting out there before sunrise to be sure us slackers could have a match to shoot.
My pleasure! Sort of.... Thanks to everyone who helped out, had a good time today.
We will finally be having a Match this Saturday. The weather looks like it should be good to go for long range targets. Please shoot me an email if you plan to shoot. We will need a spotting scope so if someone could be so kind as to bring one, that would be great! Charlie and I will be there at 0630 to set up long-range targets. If you want to Zero show up at 0800 sharp, pay your fee and go to what ever range the office sends you too. I will not be letting people zero on range 1. A quick safety brief at 0845 ish, and we will start shooting at 0900.Thanks, Ryan
Had a great time today. Thanks for taking your time to do this.

Ryan, Charlie and crew have created something cool. Enjoyed my first time at this match and will be back.
We will be having a match this saturday starting at 9am. Its looking to be another nice day for shooting, calling for a high of 63. Please be at range 1 ready to go at 0845 sharp, we will have a quick match briefing and then start shooting. Plan to see the match ran slightly different, as we are trying to find the best way to move people quickly and efficiently through the stages with less down time.
If you plan to attend please reply to this email with how many shooters you are bringing. Our attendance is increasing so we may start doing a morning and afternoon match, however this month will still be just a morning match.
We will need 2 spotting scopes, so if you have a spotter, and don't mind random hands on it, please bring it so we can put it to good use.
Match setup will start at 0730, so feel free to come out and help.
Do not forget to stop at the range office first and pay your match fee.
Thanks, Ryan Sullivan

Format today was great. Challenging course of fire with very little downtime. Great Match!
Minus the mirage, we couldn't have asked for a better day to run a match! Thanks to all that attended this weekend, and a extra thanks to those who stepped up and helped score, time, and spot. There was some slight confusion in the morning, but things went smooth after the initial hick ups. We were able to run 25 shooters in 3.5 hours with a 15minute break in between. Running two groups at the same time proved to be quite effective, and we will be sticking to this format throughout out the summer. We wouldn't be able to host this match with out the help and participation of everyone. Extra thanks to Harless Precision for hanging out with us this weekend and raffling off a free bedding job! Congrats to Zach, Ben, and Josh for finishing at the top of a really tough day of shooting. Thanks, Ryan Sullivan

There are usually a handful of semi-auto shooters there, nobody minds!
We will have a Match this Saturday March 26 starting @ 9am, match brief at 0845. The last two months have been beautiful and 70degrees. Our beloved Colorado forecast is calling for a high of 33 with snow, so bring your cold weather gear and come shoot. Please shoot me a email pikespeakLR@gmail.com if you plan to attend this weekend, and how many shooters you will bring. Depending on how much snow we get we may or may not set up the Long range targets, it gets a little hairy down range, so we may just shoot at 300yd targets. We will be playing this month by ear so stay tuned. See you on saturday. Ryan
We will be having a match this Saturday April 23rd starting at 0900, quick match brief at 0845. Please email pikespeaklr@gmail.com if you plan to attend. Don't forget to stop in at the main office and pay your match fee and receive a wrist band. We will not provide an opportunity to zero at range 1. However if you show up at 0800 sharp you can head to an adjacent range to do a zero check. The forecast is calling for 75 degrees with winds at 5 to 15mph, so it should be a nice one. See you out there
What a great day of shooting everyone! Just want to say awesome job Claire for being the only women brave enough to get out there and shoot against all the guys. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Thanks to all those that helped out with spotting, scoring, timing, setup, and break down. See you all next month. Ryan

We will be having a match this Saturday the 25th of June. Please Email PikesPeakLR@gmail.com if you plan to attend and how many you will be bringing. Please be punctual, and on time. Arrival time 0830, brief @ 0845, start shooting at 0900. As most of you know we are a completely volunteer group and do not receive any proceeds from the Match entry fees, that said, we will start a tip jar, and will be accepting donations. Cash, old cars, obstacles, spotting scopes... Whatever we can use to facilitate a fun shooting experience. Thanks, Ryan
Hoping to do this, but don't have a tripod or sticks setup yet. Is there any potential for a loaner setup while someone spots or what's the deal there? Not sure if shooters spot or what.
Borrowing gear is not a problem, your more than welcome to use mine.
ok, sounds good, hopefully I can make it this Saturday!
Thanks to all those who showed up on saturday. Hope everyone enjoyed the new format. July may be cancelled unless I can get someone to run it while I am out of town. We will be changing the entire match format in August and will be going to a 60 round ammo count, with 6 total stages. 3 - 10 round stages will be standard and repeated every month, and 3 - 10 round stages will be different every month with different club shooters(if you have participated in at least 3 matches with us, consider yourself a club shooter, and you will qualify to create a stage) creating and running these stages every month. If you want to build your own 10 round stage and host it please contact me and let me know your plans. Andy Hawkins has stepped up to help create our stages for august. If all turns out well in august we will continue this format indefinitely. Congrats to Grant for whooping our asses on Saturday. We had to re-count some of our scores, as some of the totals were incorrect. Thanks, Ryan

Would a single-load rifle be competitive in these matches or do you need a DBM fed rifle?

I took my normal mag fed bolt gun to one of these matches. Like a total dumbass, I forgot my mags at home and still did ok...
Hoser is a freak of nature. I think you would still have a good time. Not sure about being competitive, depends on your level of badassery.

Love the new format. Lot of great shooters. Can't wait till next month!
Hello everyone! We will be having a match this Saturday the 24th of September starting at 0830. We have 40 slots for this months match, so please shoot me an email @ PikesPeakLR@gmail.comif you plan to attend, and how many shooters you will have. The new TYL/KYL rack, and Spinner came in so they will be used this month. Thanks, Ryan
We are currently in the process of transitioning the Pikes Peak Precision match to the 2nd Saturday of the month. We will not have a november match, however we will be having a match on the 1st saturday of December, then we will transition to the 2nd saturday of the month starting in January.
End of the Year finale.
The December match will be our finale, and it will be a cash match. We currently charge $25.00 a shooter, $15.00 goes to the range, and $10 goes to Pikes Peak Precision Rifle for steel and other goodies. 100% of the Pikes Peak cut will go to the cash pay out for the top 5 shooters.
There will be a lot more changes coming down the pipe so stay tuned.
Thanks, Ryan
Just a reminder, there will be no Precision Rifle match this Saturday November 26th. The Pikes Peak Precision Rifle Cash Finale will be Saturday December 3rd, weather dependent, pray for sunshine! We have an awesome course of fire planned, with some interesting stages. Please bring $25 CASH for the CASH match! At this time please email PikesPeakLR@gmail.com if you plan to attend and how many shooters you plan to bring. We can take up to 50 shooters, so don't forget to send an email. The more shooters the bigger the payout for the top 5 shooters. The Course Of Fire has been emailed to those on the email list, so start practicing. If your not on the Pikes Peak Precision Rifle email list, then email PikePeakLR@gmail.com and request to be added. Distances will be posted the morning of the match. 100 rounds should get the job done. See you December 3rd.
Should I be expecting a response to my sign-up email?

Big thanks to Ryan and Andy for a great match today. A bit nippy to start out but it warmed up quickly with mild but challenging winds. Really like the variety of the stages today. Dreaded the thought of shooting the heavy rifles offhand but it was a blast. Awesome to be able to shoot 8 stages including one out to 1078 yards and be done by early afternoon. Great match to finish up the year and looking forward to next year.
