Pistol Combat Match in Boulder on August 18th

We will be holding our monthly pistol match in Boulder, at the Boulder Rifle Club at 9 AM. There will be two, "run and gun" pistol stages followed by a "Side Match" with. a combat course (reduced size) for .22 caliber pistol and rifle, titled the "Damn! Ammo is expensive" stage. What exactly is a "Combat Match?"

Is it based on IPSC or IDPA?

Is there a rulebook?

We shoot scenario based action style matches, similiar to IDPA. We have simple, basic classes:

Class "A" is 9 rounds or lesss -magazine capacity
Class "B" is 10 rounds or larger- Magazine capacity
Class "C" is equivelant to IPSC Open (scopes, comps, etc.)

We do have an internal rule book, which is out for reprint currently. We conduct a safety briefing prior to all matches and verbally read/review safety rules. Stage rules and procedures are done at the stage in a walk through. All new shooters ( never shot with us before) are assigned a big brother for their first match. Your first match is FREE. We get anywhere from 35 -55 shooters per match. Each stage has a max time, which is more than adequit for novice shooters to stay within.

Are the matches usually an all day event?

Not generally....For example, we did a three gun shoot last month, had 38 shooters, three stages, and were out by 330 PM.....Sometimes we are done by 1 PM.

Sorry, looking at wrong month when I posted.....Third Saturday, August 15th.....We shoot the third Saturday of each month.
