Old/Rare Weapons

Swords, Battle axes, Sub-Machine Guns, Carbines, Rifles, Pistols, Muskets, Derringers....
Basically if it slashes, shoots, cuts, stabs, or goes boom, is over 60 -70 years old, or just extremely rare post up a picture, or video, and whatever information or lack thereof that you know about that weapon.

Here goes. Johnson M-1941 LMG
.30-06 Caliber
Select Fire
Recoil operated
Open bolt for Full Auto.
Closed bolt for Semi Auto.
Weight: Approx 15 lbs
20 round single stack detachable box magazine fed from left side of reciever.
Designed by Capt. Melvins Johnson USMC-R circa 1940. Used by the 1st Special Service Force better known as the "Devils Brigade", USMC Raiders, and the Para-Marines. Only a few thousand produced served as the basis for the post war Israeli Dror LMG in .303 and 7.92x57.

S&W Second Model Hand Ejector .44 Spl, made in 1925, originally nickel with the lanyard ring, sent back to the factory in 1957 for a nickel refinish (I'm the custodian of this one for the widow of a great friend that had it). All numbers match.

S&W US Army 1917 (probably built late 1917, early 1918), this was refinished in 2003/4 by TJ's in Aurora (very bad cosmetic shape but great mechanically) also owned by my same friend as the above, all numbers match except the grips are repros and obviously the Tyler T wasn't original. It now lives with my older son (Army E6) and is a great shooter.

Marines used M1A1 paratrooper carbines with folding stocks? Didn't know that, thought they were only issued to Airborne troops. I'm sure the Marines could put 'em to good use just as well though!

This is my dad somewhere in Europe during WWII, he passed in '92 and like many men of his era didn't talk much about the war. M1 Carbine, he did say he always wanted to get another never did. I'd like to as well. Yes, we joked about the "finger on the trigger" thing, he laughed and said it was for "dramatic effect" LOL-he should've gone in to film!
