Everybody toss some prayers and get well thoughts out to member "FireMoth" AKA "Flaming Butterfly"(LOL) AKA Rob from Bowers Tactical.
He had surgery for some gut issues and while the surgery went well he had a rough bout with some side effects.
He is on the mend and slowly getting better but he's pretty uncomfortable.
Get well soon Rob, we need ya back!

I see there has been no update on Rob's condition. If there has been, I missed it.
Rob has been at Skyridge for two weeks and counting. As of last weekend, he was in the Skyridge ICU, family only. He has had two emergency surgeries during his stay the past week. He put a good face on for most of us pre-op, but he was high risk for infection and it developed on post op day 6 or 7. he's not gotten back to me for several days now and usually I hear back within 24 hours, so I am inferring that he is critical.
If you can, you might want to send him a card or a text. If you are a praying person, get busy. The recovery is going to be a bitch.
Yikes. Prayers are going up for him.

Just got a text back from Rob.. he is not critical, he is out of ICU. Not doing well by any means but not near death. Third surgery.. they're having to let the incisions heal open due to all the infections that kept arising.. missing a few feet of intestines.. he would like to remind you all that he still can't be killed.

I am also hoping for the best possible outcome on this. Get well, Man.
Sorry if I missed it but I am one that wants to 'do' something if possible. Is this a donate blood, get checked for marrow.....etc thing that we might be able to help him. Wife/kids/family being taken care of? If well wishes are all we got, then it is what it is but need to at least ask. Rob has always been a standup guy, willing to help if he can. Sounds like he might need some help back now.
Prayers for a speedy recovery.

Mike replied to my e-mail yesterday and said he's in better shape but there's still cause for concern due to infection. Knowing Rob he's a tough bird and will recover.
He didn't mention anything about blood or marrow... He said his sister is going to set up a 'gofundme' page to try and help with the unexpected medical costs... When he gets me the info I'll put it up

A raffle for a nice something from Bowers might help raise a good chunk of funds too. :) Just thinking out loud.
Will continue so say some prayers for him.

Thanks to Monky for an update. My wife got a text from him last night. He is on a liquid diet now, not IV. Don't sigh in relief yet.
Shawna has done a great job on the GoFundMe site describing the situation. The goal is $19 large.
Rob is in his third week (sixteen days) at Skyridge and he is going to need financial, and emotional, support; if you want to contribute, drop off something at Bowers or the go fund me site. When he will be able to work is ??? Who pays the bills?
Some of us have serious bucks and have dropped a lot of money at Bowers. Now is a good time to drop some more, this time not on toys. Since none of you know me, I can tell you I just gave $1,000. Gun guys and gals are some of the best people around. Rob is a best of the best. How much is in your wallet for a friend in need?
SP
Get better soon Rob, I'm sure I will have a bunch of broken stuff for you to fix once your up and running again.
Rob, people here want you back up and running so bad they started TWO separate threads!

Thanks to those who have contributed to GoFundMe.com, which his sister Jennifer set up. The fund is at $2600+. He is touched by your generosity. Thank you to all who have given. www.gofundme.com/rob_bonacci (http://www.gofundme.com/rob_bonacci) Some of the story of the past two weeks is there as well.
He is receiving visitors. Keep it short unless he is OK with longer. Rob is not comfortable. He's lost weight, since until today he was on an IV diet. He ate his first food, egg whites, in over two weeks. The irony is that Skyridge is known as "Spa Ridge" in part because the food is much above the usual hospital fare. Talk about getting gyped for his money!
Discharge date is unknown. Not even a best guess.

'Bout time lazy bones got back to work.
I kid; I kid.
I'm not close to Rob, but I've always thought a great deal of him. Aside from his skills/knowledge, he has always made me feel like a long time friend, not just a customer. When this thread started I'll admit I was really scared for him. I'm thrilled beyond measure that he's improving well enough to be able to go back to work.
I suspect that even though he's back to work he still has a long road to full recovery. I encourage everyone to reach out to him and help him if he can use it. I'm sure he'd also appreciate having folks stop by and remind him how much he means to this community. We are COAR and we take care of our own!

Gut issues do take a long time to heal. I'm finally getting back to normal after my own long a$$ round of hospitalization and home care for pancreatitis and gut issues...
It is awesome to see the community come together to support one another.
Stopped in today on my rounds just running around, Rob was out. Went back by a little later to bring home a new rifle and Rob was in. Great to see him, wit & sense of humor intact. A little bit toward making things right in the world.
I have heard that Rob is back in the hospital, can anyone else confirm?

Rob has to undergo 2 more repairative surgeries associated with his original surgery. His surgery date is this Tuesday the 18th.
This information came straight from him last week.
Rob is a strong man and will battle through this successfully but everybody keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Godspeed to you Rob, get yourself better.
We need you out here amigo[Beer]
Thoughts for successful surgeries along with a full and speedy recover to a great guy. Thanks BP for the futher info.
Prayers are going out for Rob, for the guidance of the surgeon's hands, and for a speedy recovery.

Stopped in to Bowers today, surgery is postponed for a bit to allow some meds to work first. Keeping a great guy in our thoughts shows what a really good group populates this forum.
