Interesting (I assume) air cleaner on the hood. Love to see more pics. That looks in incredible shape for the age.

Ok.......good.........you are not my neighbor. Just making sure this wasn't another "Listen to my rant" posting about some jerk neighbor working on his jeep at all hours of the night in surplus cammies.
Ok back on topic, looks like a good project.

Depending how deep he want's to get, it doesn't look that bad.
When it comes to restoring something. It's always someone's project. He will either complete it, or resell it after dumping another $1K+ in to it.

I'd love to have another project like that.
Just like others have said though, it's a $$$ venture for sure.
C3?,, Had a 67 CJ6 with the V6 Dauntless.
Replaced worm drive with Saginaw
3 spd to a NP435 4 spd
Dauntless to a Chevy 4.3
Diesel radiator,,more cores,,yes there was a diesel CJ
Cadillac tilt xtending steering column
VDO gauges
Talk about money pit,,you never get what you put into it.

Did I hear Willys Jeep???
The thing on the hood tells me it's likely had a later model F-head engine installed to replace the original L-head flathead. A common swap, but the F-head is a taller engine and requires a hole cut out in the hood for the carb.
Looks like a good'un, a '51 CJ3A. Should be a nice project. Hope he has a place to work on it and lots of disposable income! JEEP = Just Empty Every Pocket.
Thumbs up for any jeep post, or any post with willys in it. :)
Wish I had a decent place to work on my '56 CJ5, I desperately need to get that finished so I can drive it! Damn dinky little garage is plumb fulla shit.....
I had a neighbor who had an old jeep forgot what year it was it was an army one, ran on lead gas. It was awesome!

I believe it's an arctic top, not sure if it's off anything else. Came with the jeep. Dad didn't do the greatest job on it, still fighting some issues but it's driveable most of the time.
