Just a quick shout out to all of the Fathers and Sons out there.

Great day to take a look at the lives we live and the folks that make up our inner circles. Give your kids a hug or call or visit your Dad. Even if some of our Dads have passed, keep them in your thoughts.

Most all of us are defenders of our family, faith, and country. Just saying that it can be good to keep perspective of where we learned how to use our moral compass and to whom we have a responsibility to teach the same.

Now go have a steak and a beer!

I just got off the phone with my dad. We spoke for an hour and a half. He's in his mid-70's. I cherished the time we spoke because there will come a day when I won't be able to do that anymore.

Around 10PM Friday night, my neighbor (the only one I counted as a friend) succumbed to cancer. He was in his early 40's and left a wife, a son who graduated high school a few weeks ago, and a daughter in middle school. His kids don't get the opportunity to spend Fathers Day with their dad this year.

My point is that tomorrow isn't promosed to any of us. Those of you with fathers, take advantage of the time you have. For those of you who are fathers, reach out to your kids and build a legacy with them that will carry with them for the rest of their lives - and maybe even pass on to their kids.
