We have at this point 5 stamps out. 3 are Form 1's and 2 are Form 4's. Originally the Form 1's were sent in back in February. Last month we finally had had enough and called the ATF to find out what was up, there was no record of them. We talked with an agent we have worked with in the past, to good effect, and she said send them to her directly. We did that and also sent in two new Form 4's (separately) for another new toy about the same time(within a day or two of the other resending). It has now been another month and none of these checks have been cashed? My experience is that they are usually REALLY good about getting their money. Checks have usually been cashed with a week to at the latest 2 weeks after arrival of any forms sent in. Are we just having really bad luck or are any of you seeing this too?

I've sent four Form 4s in since March and all four checks were cashed within 3-5 days from when I mailed them.

Now getting the actuall stamp, well that's another thing.

^ Same for me. Form 4 sent in March and check was cashed within days. All my Form 1's are efile so it's credit card.

My form 4's checks were electronically debited from the checking 2-3 business days after the forms were delivered. I have sent in quite a few form 4's this year starting in late JAN.

Have yet to get an approval.

Checks are cashed immediately upon receipt. Something is up.

I have heard a few customers complain that their checks were not cashed right away, and they had a long wait before they went pending. But February is a lot longer than anything I've heard.

FWIW, over the last few months ATF was shuffling a few things. I suppose it's possible it affected your checks, but doubtful. They were doing a self-audit and had pulled examiners off normal duties to focus on form 3s. This meant our F3s were coming back quicker than usual, but I understand they're back to normal duties now.

Checks are cashed quickly!!!! Its our signal that the paperwork is in the NFA System.......no check cashed, your Form4's are lost!!!! FWIW

Pretty sure mine has not cashed either. Sent it back in May I believe. It was confirmed it was delivered. Do I call them or just submit new forms and send another check?

After calling, resending, calling...........................checks finally show as cashed.

Resending means new checks, right? So they did lose your other checks?

If you haven't stopped payment already, might want to leave a little extra in your checking account to cover it, just in case they do show up and get cashed. You'll eventually get your money back, but not until all the paperwork is cleared up.

Ya, actually called and stuck with a single ATF agent through all of this. I "should" still have the same place in line but the mysteries of "the NFA line" are just that, mysterious. I don't believe anything till a stamp is in hand. As far as the checks being cashed. Too late, going to have to go through the refund route. Sucks all the way around.

Ouch, sorry to hear it.
