Uh - not enough information but really? Can't you keep it secure from a bump or was it some cheap toy...
Loaded with blanks? Wasn't charged with discharging of a weapon within city limits? Must be on going investigation.

weird.... and stupid. People need PROPER EDUCATION. [facepalm]
I smell something fishy here.

I don't think education can fix stupid in most cases.
Unfortunately, nowadays folks' priorities are all backwards. And folks would rather prioritize stuff over something that could kill you and somebody else (IE: purchasing proper firearm carrying device instead of going to whole foods with a firearm in your purse that can get dropped.)
I bet you though she purchased a really expensive case for her phone so it would resist breakage is she dropped that!

This is almost certainly true. I would put money on it. Very ironic.

Blank? No, Whole foods sell tofu loaded ammo...
I'm sure everyone in that store wished they had diapers.. I'm tempted for a 'desk pop' every time I go in there just to get the hippies and hipsters and yogis and soccer mom's out of my damn way.

I can't believe asmo and I are the only ones to smell a rat in this story. C'mon guys, how many women do you know that drop their purses while shopping? Add in the facts that she claimed it only had blanks and the police never found any damage and I'm thinking this was a false flag "accident" by an anti to get people stirred up against CCW.

Every time I hear a story of someone dropping a firearm designed or built within the last century and said firearm has discharged my BS detector goes off ... unless they are carrying a Single Action Army with all 6 chambers loaded I seriously doubt that there are very many modern firearms that will discharge when dropped. That said in this case my guess is she had it in her purse sans holster ... and her lipstick or something hit the trigger. Dumbassery.

Funny that its known as a hippie hangout, but the owner is quite conservative. I bet they don't know that they are giving their money to the enemy. [Muaha]

They don't I assure you.. All I buy there is meats. They've got a damn better selection than anyone else locally.

You're not the only ones. Nothing in that brief article makes any sense and I'd be very interested in a follow up.
Why would someone carry with blanks? What kind of gun was it? Depending on what it was and if it was loose in her purse I can get over it going off. No damage found?
Here's the biggest part that bugs me, though. She was allowed to just pay for her groceries and leave!? WHAT!?!?!?
I really want this woman to be held accountable. I want to know if she had a CCW. I want her to justify the blanks. I want charges for discharging a weapon in city limits and maybe even fleeing the scene. Since there's so little information to work on my imagination is all over the place.

No mention of a valid CCW, no age, no damage, blanks....it does have a certain odor to it[pileoshit]

My brother used to be a fish monger for Whole Foods ... the owner is really more Libertarian than Conservative (but most leftists can't tell the difference). But most of the employees and customers are obnoxious leftards (at least that was his experience).

Maybe her son's toy cap gun. He loaded it with five or six paper caps to go off with just one drop of the hammer and neglected to tell his Ma. She picked it up in error. Hey, possible but slim chance of that happening.
Guun loaded with blanks and goes off when dropped? Almost sounds like some anti gunner with a mental condition trying to create some false hysteria over the dangers of CCW in public places..
I confess, it was me, I was identifying/presenting as female and I accidentally dropped my loaded gun. It went off and although it was unintentional, the mere fact that I was presenting as female in an obviously male body may have helped in this situation. I apologize if I skeered any of y'all. -It was all I could do to run out of there on my heels, they are tough to balance on when in a hurry and I'm just getting used to them...

^^^go to your room.....
You guys are missing the point. Have you ever looked at the purses that women carry when shopping at Whole Foods? Coach, Dooney & Bourke, Ralph Lauren...we're talking expensive handbags. Collector's bags. Seasonal styles. There's no WAY one of those women will allow their status symbol to be damaged by a bullet. [Coffee]
...but the story DOES smell to high heaven.

Did I miss the rest of the article somewhere?? 6 sentences?
Yeah, either the pot is being stirred, or that's just horrible investigative journalism. But that's what I expect these days.
All they needed to do was look for the hole in the purse or powder burn marks. Blanks or live rounds will leave residue to prove the story. Did they surround her house, ram the door open and inspect the firearm suspected of the negligent discharge? Easy peasy.....

Sounds like a multi-layered answer is needed.
Until HRC secures the D nomination and another gun rights case goes before the supreme court. Expect Many more "SENSATIONALISM" anti-gun stories to be splattered;) across the interwebzzz.
Also expect a major push for reasonable federal BGC for any firearm transaction. Spearheaded by Rainbow Brite hisself BHO.
Maybe she was stopping by the store to pick up a few items on the way home from a track & field event where she volunteers her time as a race starter?
I have a theory: It was an overzealous soccer mom, topping by for some wholesome organic snacks for halftime at the game(where nobody keeps score). She had a shitty fixed firing pin starter pistol in her purse so she could scare the geese off the field without actually harming anything, and had a live round in the chamber with the hammer down. When the purse was knocked from her hands by another hippy dipshit, the shitty starter pistol went off, much like a SAA would. She immediately shat herself, and had to leave in a hurry to change her panties.
When the roof starts leaking the next time it rains will they go back and arrest her finally?

[pileoshit]<-------This!! It is just more ammo for the anti-gun community to continue pushing their agenda as to how careless CCW holders are, and the stinkin' socialist media capitalizing on it. Here is a big [fyou] for the [fag]media!!
