This thread is for those of us who spend a lot of time driving around the state, and the things we come across.

Has anyone ever seen that guy at 92nd and Bryant that looks like a washed up rodie for AC/DC that is ALWAYS air guitaring his heart out on the sidewalk? I've seen him on both sides of the street, at all kinds of times of day, for years. I'd kind of like to know his story, but I've never talked to him.

What's up with that camel silhouette on I-25 southbound near Longmont (right next to the Kia billboard?).

I know there is some art sculpture of what looks like three, fat, sombreros, but I can't remember where I see them. I want to say on Pena Blvd leaving the airport maybe?

I know some of you guys have long commutes and do lots of driving. There must be some stuff that you pass all the time and at first thought "what the heck is that all about?" that now is so common on your route that you don't even notice it anymore.

My old boss and I were talking about air guitar guy a while back.

I KNEW someone else has had to have seen that guy, he might as well be a local monument to AC/DC as often as he is there.

EDIT: There is an alcohol rehab place right near there, so he could be out of there.

My boss who lives in the area says he's seen him around for many years and he's always rockin' out. I've seen him about a half dozen times and he's always in a denim vest just off in his own world. I'd be interested to hear his story as well.

That Camel silhouette has been there for years. If you read it , (IIRC) it references a store in berthoud.

Some of those most interesting stories I've ever heard were from guys like him at the Denver Rescue Mission. Take a shot and see if he's can carry a conversation.

As you drive on 285 heading toward Morrison from evergreen. Look right toward the sandstone rocks. There is a perfect shaped boob rock with a nipple. Every spring somebody paints or colors the nipple portion a nice bright pink. Pretty dang funny.

The camel is for an oriental rug dealer,I believe. The 3 clouds? that were on Pena just got moved recently. I read about it, but now I can't remember where they moved them.

I see cool and unusual stuff all the time when I commute. More in the rural areas though.

I know where the Scooby Doo van is parked in a field in Colorado. Anyone else know the one I'm talking about?

Another thing I always pass in Nebraska is a sign for "Original Pony Express station". I've always wondered if they mean "an" original one "the" original.

I used to enjoy driving by the army tank and helicopter out near Fort Morgan but they seemed to have moved them or sold them. They were at some sort of construction business off of Long Bridge Road just north of 76.

Yep...been seeing that one for 25 years. In the same area on Hwy 8 coming from Morrison towards 285, on the right side (west) there's a rock that looks just like a penis.

Coming down Red Hill Pass from Fairplay (on the Como side) there's a rock that's always painted like a cow that's laying down.

There is s rock painted like a bright pink pig on the right side of the road on Fall River Reservoir on the way up to Alice. It used to be in some trees and easy to miss, but now they've cleared the trees away and it is out in the open.

The clouds/sombreros were moved from Pena Blvd to the Aquarium downtown.

We stopped at the Original Pony Express Station in Gothenburg, NE a few years ago. We were driving back from the east coast on US 30, the Lincoln Highway for it's 100th anniversary. It is a sandstone block building with exhibits inside but they were closed, so no joy. The Pony Express really didn't last very long, a couple of years.

I love long driving trips. They are even better when I am alone and on a rural road.

I'm happy for the guy. I bet when he is doin it he is on top of the world!

My commute is about 15 minutes. Can I post here if--to me-- my commute seems like it lasts all day? It is about 16 minutes too long for me.

I see a sign flipper on Chambers and Alameda that does something like Air guitar man. The only good part of my commute is towards the end where I get to see the moms in yoga pants jogging.

Outside of Surprise Arizona as you exit the 101 there is a black guy with a sign saying "help me bury my son" He's been there for two years now and his son must be a real stinker by now.

One time driving south on I-25 I saw a Prius on the shoulder, a second car, and a guy fueling the prius with an emegency gas can.

Is that irony?

I drove Thornton to the Tech Center every day for over five years. Now I've switched jobs and I get to drive all over the metro area, and usually at times that aren't in the middle of rush hour, or at least in the opposite direction. The few times I do have to do I-25 during rush hour, I'm astounded at how much more terrible people's driving is than every where else. It's only been a year and I've forgotten how bad it can be!

Dude on 92nd is actually a pretty decent guy just way to many drugs, one of my friends back in school was related to him.

One one big thing I notice anymore is the lack of merging with SPEED! See this assholes merge at about 40 on to 76 moving at 75-80 and then you get the finger when you pass their dumbass.

Then in you have all the damn out of state plates, I make it a point now to tell them "GO HOME!", guess I'm just getting grumpy in my old age.

She always has on a pair of Platex kitchen gloves for handling dirty money and holds up a sign that says "Wishen for Chicken".

I always see a guy walking anywhere between Wadsworth and Sheridan and 88th to 92nd. I think he makes a huge loop. The strange part is that no matter what time of year and no matter how hot it is outside, he is always in full winter gear. I'm talking snow boots, down fill coat, snow pants, beanie, and mittens. He walks at a very slow pace head slumped down and arms at his side not swinging like most people do when walking. I don't know if he has a skin condition or was burned really bad in an accident or what, but I see him 2-3 times a week.

Has anyone in Thornton seen the white, '90's Ford Bronco that says "Casey Jones" across the windshield? I see him all the time. It took me a few times before i realized that Casey Jones is from the Ninja Turtles.

I came out of my house the other day and the truck was parked askew in the street in front of my house still running. I looked around and saw him standing on my neighbor's porch. He's a local pizza delivery driver; no wonder I see him everywhere! Up close the Casey Jones decal is in Ninja Turtle font.
