After three years of trying I finally flew in the B-24. My Grandpa was a navigator with the 321st in the Pacific in WWII (The Jolly Rogers). When I flew there was a man with his father flying as well. His father was a mechanic on B-24 in Austraila during WWII. He had pictures with him and sure enough there were plenty of Jolly Roger planes in those pictures. It was so much fun chatting with him and thinking he may very well may have known my Grandpa.
Flying in those planes is amazing. The environment with noise, open windows, noise, is amazing. I could not imagine flying at 20,000 feet on oxygen in the cold and then add fighters and anti aircraft trying to blow you out of the sky. Amazing to me.
Anyway if if you have the opportunity to fly, if you are on the fence, do it. It is expensive, but probably the best $450 I ever spent.
I'm poor, so I'll probably be camped out at the south end of the runways with my camera.
Sweet! Thanks for the heads-up! I'm too po' to ride in one, but I love taking photos of warbirds and videoing them starting up. And Centennial's real close to me in Parker.

I'm thinking about parking on Liberty Blvd, depending on wind conditions.

Tours of the planes $12
CBS4 News reporting that Veterans get to tour for free.
Don't know if you need ID or DD-214 to take advantage.

That's awesome! I'll be there Tuesday morning, hopefully the weather will be clear enough to get there on two wheels.

I saw them at Jeffco Airport a few years ago.
Pretty impressive seeing them take-off and land.
Not much room inside the bombers.
Those of you that are pilots, can fly rear seat in the P51 and have flight time logged ... as a P51 !!!

Going to take my 4yr old son to see the planes today around 4pm.
**Today, Tuesday, it's been delayed until 1p, not all the planes made it in yet.**
Good morning for a motorcycle ride though lol.

Got by there today to see the planes, no flight for me, but getting to see them up close and crawl thru them was worth the trip. I stuck around long enough to see the B-17 and B-24 take off today as well. A very cool sight to see. Thanks for the heads up on their visit.
Glad you got to go! I unfortunately couldn't get over in time-damn rain is screwing with my vacation!
Must be given out rides today, or the B24 is headed out. It just flew over us here at work headed S.E.
Do you know what kind of a headache this caused for me trying to get my boss out to cali on a jet... ugghh... delays delays delays ;)
