Has anyone had experience with Zero bullets? I'm trying to reload my first ones of this brand. I'm getting wildly inconsistent OAL with a Lee seating die that is clean and in good condition. This die has seated numerous brands and types of 9mm bullets in the past, with no problems. Now I'm getting one at 1.138, the next at 1.117, stuff like that. I don't wan't to try another die when this one has never had this issue. All the other bullets I've run through it were Extreme, Berry's, Hornady and other popular brands.

I tried the search forum option, but "zero" is too short a search term, and adding "bullets" or "plated" returns everything with the bullets or plated names, not very helpful!

Not with zero, but i did have the same issue with the last batch of MG 124 JGP's

Is that Montana? And I'm assuming that JGP is JHP, or else I've not heard of a JGP.

JHP bullets will have an inconsistent OAL because of the HP design. Just one of those things.

Measure a couple bullets before you seat them and you will see they vary quite a bit.

Get a comparator gauge and then measure a loaded round. Should be close to dead nuts on.

Most seater stems index against a specific spot on the ogive. The "tip" of the bullet, where you measure OAL, can be inconsistent vs the ogive. If you think about how the bullet seats against the lands, it's consistent to this approach, whereas the tip-to-headstamp distance doesn't matter.
