Ok, I know there is no clear choice and much of it is personal preference but it's a slow night and I need some convincing.

I'm looking for a new sling and Ive never used anything but a cheap sling on any rifle. I've got an HK 3 point sling on my 93 but that's more historical than anything else.

I think I've settled on one of three, the VCAS, VTAC (from Larue) or the Savvy Sniper http://www.savvysniper.com/dualquad.html Since I have very little experience with a sling of any sort, personal preference isn't a deciding factor at the moment. I've read great things about the VCAS and VTAC so I'm leaning towards the VTAC.... Just ran out of Dillow Dust last night so that's weighing into my decision.

Vickers article swayed me from he dual attached but I'm still open to suggestions - http://vickerstactical.com/tactical-tips/carbine-slings/

Anyone know a shop where I could pick up a VTAC or VCAS locally? The thought of waiting has me thinking of going to Cabela's for a Magpul.

I like the Magpul MS1. It has the quick adjust feature like the Vickers type sling but I prefer the sliding buckle thingy on the Magpul.

Now you've got me thinking that I need to hit Cabela's tomorrow morning. I think they have the MS3 and MS4.

Thanks Mods.... I've been here for 5 years and didn't realize there was a specific sling form. :) How about, 'what to do with a full day to yourself in Bangkok?'. Seems like an interesting discussion and I'm looking for suggestions.

I've had a few different slings, and I think the best one is a functional one. 2 pt seems the most functional to me. 1 pt slings seem tacticool, but are actually a huge PITA if you ever use one for an extended period of time. Anything that is easily adjustable should be good to go.

Thanks, that's what I'm leaning towards. The single/dual seem kinda cool to try out but maybe for a later time. Or if I find an MS4 in stock tomorrow.

Our standard issue is the VTAC, which is a great overall sling. It's simple and strong. A lot of guys upgrade to the Magpul stuff, and really like that as well.

Go with an M1garand/M-14 military type sling.

I put a Savvy Sniper on my wife's build & if they weren't so expensive (~$60; remember, I'm cheap), I'd put them on every AR carbine I own.

I think my favorite feature of the Savvy Sniper slings is the loops which facilitate a quick tightening or loosening of the sling, yet don't slip once they're in place where you want them.

I've got Blackhawk and Magpul slings too but really like the Savvy Sniper above those too.

I have mainly VTACs, they work well and are not too expensive.

I bought a savvy sniper for my first AR build. I love it and would definitely buy it again.
