View Full Version : LC vs LC LR
Is there any real difference in surplus brass, other than the price, of LC vs LC LR.
I have found vendors who have LC cheep and want more for the LC LR.
Yes, just like commercial ammo the name of the game in producing accuracy is consistency. So the brass used in the LR ammo is more consistent in areas of weight, case volume, and appearance. If y I ur trying for accuracy out of your AR10, consistent ammo is going to be just as your consistency behind the rifle. FYI, might get more opinions if this was in the reloading forum instead, maybe PM a mod and ask if they can move it for you. *Disclaimer* This is just one low life's opinion. I have LC NM brass from the late 60's I use in my gas gun.

Judging by my thousands, the LR has a lighter primer strike, lacquer on the primer, and flatter primers than the regular lc. Each piece of the regular lc has a small spot on the mouth that has hit a deflector. It's not a problem, but it is there. Normal resize and trim takes it right back to shape.
By the way, I'll treat you right if you buy some of mine. (Shameless plug).

Thanks for the info, I don't know if i can justify the difference between the two for an AR platform... The place on line has 7.36 cents per case on LC and 18.51 cents for the LR.
I just got my DMPS sporticle (would not shoot an 8 in group @ 100yrds) re-barrelled to 260 Rem and am going to convert the brass anyways.
I can't/don't want to compete for the 7.3 cents per case on the regular lc since mine is sorted by year cleaned, and not all dinged up but on the LR I could if you wanted. And I am like a couple miles from you.

This place seem to have all LC 13 but not cleaned... Per your request, the site is:

Thank you. Although I do find it interesting that you replied publicly to an private message. I can't find info on where that website is out of. I did adjust my price on the LR though. Appreciate the info.

Can't shoot an 8" group in a 100 years ?
So much for my thoughts of picking up a DPMS..........
You didn't need to be disingenuous, after 30 days you can just sell in the trading post! Welcome aboard!

That is just a sample size of 1, and it was off the rack of a walmart store... I have other DPMS's that shoot just fine.
