View Full Version : 5.56 blanks?
Anybody reload blanks? I'm looking to do some of these for my can cannon instead of buying a case of them. Best price I have see is $300/1000 but I don't need or want to order that many. Would rather reload them if possible.
if so, what powder, how many grains and how do you go about crimping it down or do I need to get a special die for that? Also do I need sealant up top?
I heard my grandpa say he's been shooting blanks for years. Want me to ask him for you?
I can get you empty blanks if you figure out the reload process.

Yeah see what his secret is, I need to know that as well!

I'll play around with it tomorrow and see if I can figure out a crimping system. The powder I'm guessing I'll need something extremely fast burning, I think they come factory with about 7 grains but not sure the powder type.
or I might be better off just buying some already made up for me and saving the brass for 300 blackout conversion.

There's a discussion over in the reloading forum on arfcom that discusses this.
