Seems there's a growing segment of the shooting population that makes their own jacketed bullets from fired cases. They make .223 bullets from .22lr brass, .38/.357 from 9mm, .44 mag from .40 S&W, etc.

Is there anybody here that does this? I'd like to find out just how cost effective it really is. There's a lot of guys on the Cast Boolits forum that do this, but the info there is too intense to wade through.

$300 + for the initial start up. I read, looked in to doing it. However the time / labor to do it wasn't adding up. Is it interesting yes, again for myself not at this time. Then again when is it ever the "right time"

Yeah, I can get new Federal 55gr FMJBT bullets from Polygunbag for $95/1000. I'm trying to figure out if making them myself is cost effective. Just too much damn reading involved, and too much varying info. I've seen dies priced at $3000! "you gotta use a special press, you DON'T have to use a special press, buy these dies, buy those dies, make your own dies (who the fuck has their own lathe?), and so on."

That's why I'm asking here, to see if there's anyone here closer to home that does this and can give good info.
