Anyone who said surfing isn't dangerous has never been in the ocean. Outside of the very real risk of drowning in about 57 different ways, you are no longer anywhere near the top of the food chain.

So how are the sharks supposed to finish their competitive event? It's the one where people enter the water, where the sharks live and eat. Then the people get on boards that make them look like most of the things the sharks normally eat. Then the people splash and swim, like a big tease for the sharks. Then the sharks hunt the people down and see just how big a piece of the people they can get. Just as the sharks get into the game, the people decide they don't want to play any more? What's up with that?

Next up, naked men smear bacon fat over their bodies and race through tiger infested habitat. I sure hope the tigers don't interfere with the race. [facepalm]

Bethany Hamilton is not only still surfing, she just had a baby this year and regular swimming was apparently part of her pregnancy routine. The friend who was surfing with her when she was attacked is also still surfing competitively.
