This motorcyclist gets raged on by an older, less coordinated guy and the rider proves his sainthood by not pummeling him throughout the ordeal. I'm pretty certain the moment my wife was shoved like that I wouldn't have been as laid back as this guy was. I'm impressed with the way he stayed cool, luckily he had his helmet cam rolling and the driver wasn't the most capable foe.

How would you have handled it if you were him?

When he's on the ground his eyes freak me out. That driver may not know karate but he knows crazy!
The rider seemed to handle it well.

Damn.

Step one: Avoid that situation if at all possible.

I would have run the light when I saw him get out of his vehicle. From what information I have, it seems the biker handled things pretty well... The driver almost seemed drunk.

Afterthought: WTF? They guy was wearing flip flops, while trying to start a fight against 2 younger people in the middle of the road by punching a guy wearing a full-faced helmet. Time to start making better choices.

I always watch confrontations involving riders hoping eventually one of them will head butt the dumb ass who confronts them.

Just wow... I've had many cages run me off the road while on my bikes (bicycle or motorcycle) and cut me off, and other assorted 'bad manners' on the road.

Dude was definitely out of control.

Gotta agree with HoneyBadger...

Avoid the situation. You see him getting out of his car, run the light, make the right hand turn, whatever. Get out of there.

If not possible, then I think the guy handled it pretty well...

One word. "Gollum"

The guy on the bike obviously stole the old dudes "Precious".

The saddest part about this is that the guy's kids are probably going to grow up to be non-contributors - Just as foolish as their dad.

Or feral. Plenty of those humans running around these days.

Sorry fellas. Someone comes up and physically attacks you, then your lady? Commence operation "whoop that ass". You have to protect yourself. Period.

^^This...end the situation as immediatly and definitevly as possible - e.g. intense violence of action.....

all things being equal, I'd rather defend against assault charges than end up under their vehicle should they decide to give chase and run you down (I actually know someone this happend to and my understanding is they had to open fire on a public street to avoid being killed by the persuing driver using his vehicle as a weapon)

Had a similar incident with a nutbag on Mt Evans while my wife was riding pillion. Why some people don't understand punching a guy in the face while the punchee is wearing a full face helmet doesn't hurt is beyond me.

Rather true or not, I don't know, but I read elsewhere the aggressor had admitted to recently having "4-5 shots" at a local watering hole.

I think HoneyBadger's call is correct. Avoid the issue. Now normally somebody pushes my wife like that I would step in but really, I think both that guys wife (and I know mine) would have kicked his ass. I would have been pulling her off him to protect him. That guy got lucky on several counts. I wish it went on for another 60 secs..... Looks like his wife was starting to get in there.

And that look in his eyes.... That is the look of "oh hell.......I........AM........ ABOUT..... TA...........PAY.......THE......PIPER!!!"
Welcome to the conciquences of a bad plan of action.

I would have definitely kicked somebody in the balls. More than once. Why is the guy riding in Fremont county?

I'm a good sized guy and I have run into crazy drivers before and once I am off the bike they get back in their car, roll up the window and drive away as fast as they can. I have never been attacked by a driver in 50 years of riding other than the guy from Michigan in the Toyota that rammed me for splitting lanes but the CHP saw it and he went to jail for assault with intent. I stayed upright without damage but he had a heck of a dent in his door afterwards.

Overall I thought the rider handled it well.
