I'm not a hunter but have been looking at getting a scope for longer distances. Have a red dot now. Saw this at Cabelas. Anyone have any experience with it as an everyday scope and not a hunting one?

I have a Buckmaster in 3-9×40 on my Savage .308 and I can see shots at 100 yards okay. I can't see shots at 200 yards at all, and can't see .223 at 100 yards.
So, if it's 3-9×40, it is not at all for long distance.
I like Nikon scopes, have several. But I'm a Nikon camera fanboi anyway.

I know that^^ What's your expectation for LD, 100 - 300-500-1K ? While a nice scope that's not going to work past a few hundred yards, if that. I'm running a 3x9 and 250 is pushing it for clear, accurate shots

Not really sure. Guess just looking for a scope to shoot at ranges and we'll ICSH.
Figure for the sale price it would be good for me. Not sure I'd go over 250 yards.
It's great quality and at $99 you can't go wrong. If you want to shoot 50, 100, 200 yards. I didn't look it up but what are the specs? I have a 4.5x12x40 on my AR 223 and it works great.

For an extra $75 you'll probably be a lot better off with this scope.

I have a Nikon BDC 2x8, good glass for the money. The BDC is questionable. The dots change with the power setting which makes life less simple.

I have two and they are great so far(I'm a higher end vortex fan boy). If you download the Nikon spot on app and input some basic number ( bore height, zero distance, gr weight and fps it will tell you what distance the circles are.
