For most of you guys this is probably an afternoon project. It took me 2 days.

The old dormer looked really bad. The wood was cracked, broken, missing pieces, gray and weathered. I spent most of the first day demo'ing everything. Then I put up the siding boards. I'm such a dumbass I didn't realize the T&G boards were only beveled on one side. That's why I have nice spacing between some boards, no spacing between some boards and half spacing between some boards. I never even noticed. When I was about 80% done I finally figured it out. Duh!

It was really difficult working on ladders up there. The ground below the window slopes downward away from the house.

Anyway, it looks WAY better than it did. I wish I had a before photo but I don't.

Last project before hittin' the road.

Hell of a dormer to have to work on. At least the roof is so steep that the ladder just lays flat on it!
Download the roof pitch app for your phone and tell us what pitch that is! Looks like at least a 19/12.

It's a gambrel roof and the sides are almost vertical.
