CO is a shall issue state and must have it to you (or a reason for denial), within 90 days. Each county varies. Check the stickies for current wait times.

There's a sticky at the top of this forum https://www.ar-15.co/threads/65505-Official-wait-time-list-by-county

I'm wondering why instructors aren't covering this info in their classes?

I did, always let them know it was a 60 - 90 day turn around for approval. If their CCW was going to expire , DON'T wait to the last minute as it still a wait. It was one of those first order of business before moving in to the course. I did it as the number of people who "thought" you got a certificate and walked out with a permit the next day was interesting. Hell the number of people who after class went . How come you didn't give me a CCW permit? was up there too.EVEN AFTER TELLING THEM. This is a Course that qualifies one for their CCW permit. PROVIDING THEY PASSED THE CLASS.

How do you know they're not? Like GK said...we give people all kinds of information they promptly forget. Just like, "DO NOT lose your certificate." Invariably, some knucklehead from every class calls up (sometimes YEARS later) and says, "Can you give me another certificate? I lost mine."

I suggest people make a copy and file it along with other important docs.

They covered the turn around time in class but I was curious what actual times were right now. I had a curio and relic ffl and one time it took the full time and another time it took like 2 weeks. I'll check that link out my phone hid the stickies

I'm about to start the process with Denver (VA permit no good here:()

My guess is that I'll get the permit by the time I have grandchildren.

Only if you keep your VA DL and car tags. Once you have a CO ID, you're SOL.. It's 90 days

I'm holding out as long as I can. Only have a few weeks left.
