M1a v. M1 Garand front sights?

I was wondering if it is possible to interchange the front sights between these. As best I can find they look identical, but I am not sure if they are fully interchangeable. I was thinking about getting a Shuff’s Mini-G (http://www.shuffsparkerizing.com/) built and once I have done that much it seems like it would be nice to put a tritium M1a front sight on it. I was wondering if this was possible, I only have the Garand for reference and can't measure out the size of the M1a front sight.

While I am at it, any thoughts or experience with the Mini-G?

The M1 Garand front sight is larger in the dovetail and in base width than the M1a front sight. They are not interchangable.
