My power went out around 11:00 but came back a few hours later. I noticed that most of the businesses down 285 didn't have power this morning. I suppose it will be intermittent over the next two days.
The longest power outage I had so far is four days. I don't have my generator hooked up yet; I need to get to that at some point. Mainly, it is just the well pump, refrigerator, and freezer; I don't care about the rest.

get a propane generator or diesel. Buy once cry once. (I assume you are on propane up there) The little ones you see advertised dont work well for long term power solutions. Yes, they can do it, but for long term or extended use you need somthing built for that purpose. Not running a compressor and miter saw on the job site.
This ^^^, and look for one that runs at 1800RPM rather than 3600RPM...
If you can't afford a good one right now, I'd suggest renting what you need- don't invest in the disposable junk widely available.

Man the people on this forum rock.
Went with a Honda 3000 for now. It's stupid quiet and it's running what we need to cover.
Long term I'll do the whole house unit off natural gas line.

You should find many uses for that. I would like to replace my camper portable with a Honda 2000 or 3000.

I have had a Honda 2000 for 4 years now. Use it for the travel trailer onntje summer and various times in the winter. Great generators. Always starts and is dang quiet.

Wife said the power in Bailey went off about 10:30 or 11:00 last night but was on shortly before midnight. Others weren't so lucky, apparently.

I get home, full up the generator, run cords to get the TV connected so I can sit and relax.
Power comes on 5 minutes later.
Expensive day day but I guess I'm ready for the next one.
