This process should be streamlined. I know it was made to look like it is through and all. But its more of a harassment of the law abiding. Its a sign of what it will look like if they start registering guns.
I had to attend a class with me and my girlfriend. $200 for that.
152.50 for the application and my girl didn't even do hers yet.
Misc time off work and expenses plus the humiliating booking procedure that they make you go through. And I have to go back to pick it up.
This shit needs to go.
My brother got a permit in one visit. $10 and they gave him a temporary permit mailing him the permanent one. He lives in another state too.

How about this, why do we have to have a permit at all?

Open Carry, if you're that upset. Clearly you don't own any NFA items.

This..

Sorry, but I don't find OC to be an acceptable alternative to CC in the event you can't afford a permit.

Eh. Technically, concealed is concealed. The permit makes everything legal but if you really feel you may be in some sort of danger there's no way I'd risk my life for fear of violating a law. Just saying.

I'm all for doing away with the permit. Clearly I don't own any NFA items but I would if the process could be easier.

Jacket tax.

You take the class and get licensed so you can put a piece of cloth over it. [beatdeadhorse]

It's way easier than applying for a CCW permit, cheaper (in the long run) unfortunately the wait time is longer.
When we applied for our permits, 28ish yrs ago It was at Sheriff's discretion. El Paso, and Weld were 2 of the few to issue.
For Weld, Jumping through those hoops.
3 letters of recommendation, Dr's Note saying you were of sound mind, and something to verify you were actually employed. Along with a reason for the permit. I wrote because it's my right, you're one of the few to allow CCW, AND i carry large sums of money.
YET no one was ever contacted and it took 15ish days from time of application to approval.
